If you get a good flavor, it’s great, but if you don’t…good luck. Asked for a sample of ice cream for my daughter and they said no. She got it and hated it. That’s fine, so I asked for a sample of another flavor so it wouldn’t happen again when I ordered her another and still no. This place sucks so hard. I get why people like some of the flavors, but they are so un-accommodating that all I can do is hate them with all my soul. All I can say is for
God’s sake don’t get any of the sherbet flavors because I’m $10 invested and at least 2 of them are horrible and I’m no closer to having a satisfied child.

Very good ice cream! Had the banana nut bread! Wish they had homemade waffle cones though!

We had this in our list for long time. We were hearing nice feedbacks for this place and every time we pass through this shop, we wish to stop next time and finally we were there, early August , in a not-so-hot afternoon.
Well, personally I have a soft corner on ice creams, and because 1st impression should be good. So, we dint experiment much from the huge list of flavors they offer. And We ordered the one we like most - the Roasted Almonds and butter peccan. And they passed. Not with high grade though but enough to come back again to try other flavors. They offer all the flavors we know plus some unusual ones. See the list in photos I shared. The lady at counter was helpful enough to guide me through the list and recommend what they serve best.
Coming to the place. It’s roadside only. Parking is less and there’s a beautiful outdoor place as well as indore to sit and enjoy.
They have a Take-Out window on the side of the billing counter, if you don't need to go inside. We enjoyed it outside garden(small flowers were there for decoration, so calling it a garden, don’t mind if u don’t think so).

What no samples? I get it hard but that's the nature of the beast. Now as far as your product. It is very good, and you offer some amazing flavors.

It was a nice visit. I'm not much of an ice cream lover, but my partner is — so we decided to explore this place. For me, it was just okay. We paid around $6 for two scoops and chose roasted almonds and butter pecan flavors.

Great ice cream. Their cotton ice cream will blow your socks off. It's explosive. No really it has pop rocks in it.

First time there. Hot fudge sundae. I'm glad I went.

This was my first time trying this place, and unfortunately, I left very disappointed. I ordered a small (1 scoop) ice cream and a kiddie size ice cream, and was charged $11.11 which makes no sense to me. How could a kiddie size cost nearly the same as a small?

I called and left a message hoping to speak to someone about the pricing, but no one ever got back to me. Very poor customer service. I felt overcharged and taken advantage of. I won’t be returning, and I can’t recommend this place to others. Extremely unhappy with the experience.

Tall Man’s Ice Cream is truly the heart of CT 🍦❤️ I was so surprised (and a little emotional!) seeing their new mobile truck show up at my kids’ 5th grade picnic—my hometown favorite from Cromwell now serving scoops in Old Lyme too! I’ve loved teaming up with Tall Man’s over the years for our Giveback Santa Sessions alongside Karen Ambler, my son’s kindergarten teacher. Their focus on community is what makes them so special—always showing up for families, schools, and small businesses. From Cromwell to the shoreline, they’re spreading sweetness in every way. 💛

Great hole in the wall ice cream shop with friendly staff, clean facilities, and unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else. Fair prices for very delicious homemade ice cream.

I ordered a watermelon Italian ice that, unfortunately, tasted like plain simple syrup with no real watermelon flavor. After just one spoonful, we politely asked if we could replace it. Instead of offering a refund or any accommodation, they insisted we would have to pay full price for the replacement. When I asked to speak with a manager—having already seen one of the owners in the back before we ordered—the young staff claimed no one else was available. I’m genuinely disappointed by the poor customer service and lack of consideration, especially at a place that doesn’t offer taste tests before purchase. Shame, the ice cream is well made. However on this service, I could not recommend.

The yummiest creamiest cookie dough ever! We love that they don't add mini chocolate chips--just delicious ice cream with fresh cookie dough pieces throughout. The way it should be! Homemade ice cream with 16% butterfat is hard to find in CT, highly recommend Tall Man's!!
