A Danbury staple continues . Please keep up the good work and keep .aking it better Thank you !!!

The dining room is BEAUTIFUL, Phillipa was incredible as a server, so attentive and went out of her way to make sure that we got what we wanted. The drinks were incredible, and the food was out of this world and the portions were perfect. We will definitely be back!

Went here on a friend's recommendation and had a wonderful experience. We were greeted by one of the new owners, Antonio, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We chatted for a bit they've only been open for about a month and are still working on their decor but the atmosphere was already warm and inviting. They brought complimentary bread and olives to the table, which was a lovely added touch, especially since many restaurants charge for this.
The food was authentic Portuguese and absolutely delicious. I ordered the flamed chorizo, which was excellent, and my husband had the octopus. It was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. We will definitely be coming back with the whole family.

We love the new Atlantic.... so glad these new owners saved this place . It's looking so fresh and inviting! The decor is coming together so beautifully. We were greeted and seated right away, no wait. Although on weekends you do need reservations, gets quite busy. Been here 3x and it's been great every time. Served delicious bread with olives and evoo. All their dishes & deserts are made fresh daily. We had the polvo galega & steamed clams for apps , also had Bacalhu a gomes sa & bifa a moda antiga.. delicious authentic Portuguese dishes. The restaurant feels modern with a beautiful wall mural of Duoro river. I will definitely be going back for some homestyle dishes , like my Avo used to make. Thank you Atlantic for making us feel at home .

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My husband had the Bacalhau Vila Real and I had Carne Alentejana both dishes were delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming making it suitable for both casual dining and special occasions. Service was excellent making it a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.

Atlantic has always been a beloved Portuguese staple, and now it’s entered a beautiful new chapter that truly shines.

It starts with the inviting, newly redone rear entrance, which immediately sets the tone for what’s inside. The entire restaurant has been transformed with fresh paint, modern new floors, wood accents, and an overall feeling that is clean, bright, and elevated while still keeping the heart of what Atlantic has always been.

The service was outstanding. One of the owners went above and beyond for every single table. While we were waiting for our Camarão à Guilho appetizer, they brought out a generous bowl of delicious olives, a fresh loaf of crusty bread with oil, and even a warm stuffed bread with ham and olives that the owner personally shared with us. Those thoughtful touches made the experience feel so special. Even the wine carafes were beautiful.

My husband and I ordered the Picadinho de Carne and the Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá, and both were absolutely incredible. The expanded menu is like a love letter to Portugal, filled with everything I adore about Portuguese cuisine and more. The variety is unbelievable.

If you haven’t been since the reopening, do yourself a favor and go. It’s still the Atlantic everyone loves, just refreshed and elevated in the best way.

Great experience, went with family and friends after church on Sunday . We had a great reception we had a big group of people and forgot to make a reservation but once we got there they work it out , and Zé tried to accommodate all of us it was our fault not to call before. But everything went smoothly fine. Food was great , very friendly I recommend it. Thank you !!!

staff initially was nice, BUT once we sat down and didn’t speak portuguese seemed like the rest of the staff and guests just stared at us for no reason. the prices were OUTRAGEOUS for what we ordered and hoping to see a large portion, we received meer scrapes is what it looked like. $19 for a charcuterie board with one meat and one cheese, is ridiculous. the chourico was very good but $12 was very high for the price. and the pork sandwich was very very bland the bread wasn’t even warm and we waited a while for that. in the end we spent around $50 for small food portions and to be ignored until we needed the check honestly.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was such a massive letdown that I feel obligated to warn others.
This restaurant is unrecognizable under the new ownership—and not in a good way. Prices have gone up significantly, yet the menu has been stripped down to a shell of what it once was. Many of the dishes that made this place worth coming to are simply gone, replaced with fewer options that somehow cost more and deliver far less.
The service was absolutely horrendous. Not just slow, but careless and dismissive. We waited an outrageous amount of time to be acknowledged, even longer for food, and when it finally arrived there was zero sense of urgency or apology. It felt like the staff genuinely didn’t care whether customers were there or not.
And here’s the part that still blows my mind: a Portuguese restaurant with no Portuguese rolls. That alone says everything you need to know about how far this place has fallen.
What used to be a reliable, authentic spot has turned into an overpriced, poorly run disappointment. If you remember this restaurant fondly from before, do yourself a favor and keep that memory intact—because whatever this is now, it’s not worth the wait, the money, or the frustration.

Not at all what it used to be. Prices are higher, portions are smaller. My steak was dry. Salads no longer included with meals. I used to walk out of here with enough leftovers for another meal later, not anymore. All the new owners did was paint the walls and use that as license to increase their prices and do away with half the menu. I will not be returning and don’t see this place in business for very long if this conduct continues. Used to be one of my favorite spots in town, very disappointing.

The starts go to the staff, Atlantic is not the same, food quality went down and prices went up... Half of the stuff from the old menu is gone ... They no longer serve salad with meals ... I've been going to the restaurant for almost 16 years and the food has always been amazing... I'm very disappointed with the new owners... Atlantic used to be so good.... I guess I'm gonna have to find a new favorite place to go.... ,😢

We had dinner here with friends. We were a large table and everything came out on time and cooked perfectly. The seafood plates are really delicious, as are the meat plates. Everything was fresh and the portions were great. Overall it was great, a hidden gem in Danbury.

The best Portuguese food in Danbury. Fantastic place for very authentic Portuguese food. This has more authentic food than most restaurants in Connecticut . Staff is great and very friendly. This is a must try.
