I wouldn't spit on this place if it were on fire.

This ice cream shop has been a staple for decades. The owner is a familiar face who runs the shop himself. I’ve been going here since I was 4. Support local, it’s worth it.

Always the best, the owner is there most days and works the counter himself, not teenagers. Family business for over forty years. It is a perfect ice cream place, a perfect Carvel

Great place to go to enjoy their original ice cream flavors! The manager is wonderful and orders are always made to perfection!

Ice cream was excellent . Man was nice . He seems to be working hard . I don’t think people understand how hard to be an owner operating business is and should give more grace .

This actually happened on multiple occasions. I went in and purchased already premade frozen ice cream cake that feed multiple guests. I asked to purchase a cup of hot fudge to go along with my ice cream cake. The owner refuses to sell the cup of hot fudge. I even expressed that I’m not asking for the cup to be discounted or free. He can charge me whatever he feels necessary for the fudge. He would not sell it, but replied he could sell me a cup of crunchies. I replied my guest don’t want crunchies they like fudge. He replied, already has frozen cakes made with fudge. I explained to him that that fudge is now cold and does not have the hot and cold component like hot fudge. Still refused to sell the hot fudge. (this is unique to his store as I’ve been to other Carvels in the area and out of state and never had this issue.)

Refuses to take gift cards, even after you’ve ordered. Simple solution is to put a sign up and not blame the customer because I didn’t wave it around in the air and announce when I walked it.

My boyfriend and I recently enjoyed an ice cream day at our local Carvel, and it was fantastic! We shared the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, and it was absolutely divine. This sundae is a true American delicacy, topped with whipped cream, strawberry crunchies, mini cake bites, and vanilla ice cream. It's the best thing I've tasted all week!

The gentleman who works there is always prompt and ensures our order is perfect every time. I genuinely appreciate the pride he takes in his work, making our experience even more enjoyable. If you haven't tried the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae yet, you definitely need to! The delicious sundae and outstanding service make it a must-visit.

Sundae is under $10

You’d think having such low ratings would make him at least try to be nice. I cannot believe how badly I was treated. Very condescending.

The owner is a good guy who has been through some tough times. He has operated his store, often with few employees for decades. I believe that he is doing what he can and has to be very diligent since there is more awareness and an increase in allergies. He has never been unpleasant to anyone in my family, but has to take things easy while working.

I love carvel ice cream but this is the second time the older employee was rude to me. I asked for a peanut butter dasher and a brownie dasher and he yelled at me saying “one at a time”. The place was empty and clearly it’s the customer service! If you’re in the Danbury area I would go to Dairy Queen instead.
