Finally was able to go after work tonight. I have heard good things about this place. I ordered a meatball parm sub. Let me just say the sauce is just right and the meatballs, made me feel like I was having sunday dinner again. Delicious! The French fries are cooked perfectly and crisp 👌. The boneless wings, parmesan garlic ones. Perfect..chicken was nice and tender and I loved my food. My drink was the way I like it. Hennessy/Pineapple. Most importantly to the owner Anthony. You have great hospitality with your customers and thank you for good service and good food. Delizioso💯

What a pleasurable Sunday afternoon at Nicky's Place. All the folks working there really care about the food and the customers, such as you find in Italy. The owner Anthony handles the kitchen personally and checks on all the customers too. Excellent pizza. Just-right slight char on the bottom. Good balance of cheese and sauce, and nothing too salty. Broccoli and olive toppings fresh and flavorful. 80's music playing, 6 different NFL games on show on the good-sized TV's. I asked for a sambuca on ice to top it off, which they found and served generously in a snazzy whiskey glass. Kudos all around to the team making it happen at Nicky's.

My husband and I got hot wings, and a large pizza (w/ 2 alcoholic drinks). Everything was alright, but not super amazing or anything. Although the pizza looks super good, it was lacking in flavor and a bit too watery and mediocre for the price. The wings were pretty good though. Hot, saucy, and singed my nose hairs (more so because they're vinegary too). But nothing to write home about. It kills me that they give cheese instead of ranch for dipping though, but I must be too Midwestern.
My espresso martini tasted somewhat unpleasant too, and I can't really put my finger on what exactly was wrong with it... Kind of like dirty soapy water. I've ordered it many times before then, and it never tasted quite like it, and I was sad trying to finish it. It was too expensive too. But it definitely got me quite drunk drinking that first on an empty stomach!
I think overall it's not a bad place to eat at, but it's not really so special or good that I'd ever crave to go there. Just convenient and pleasant enough w/ atmosphere & service. Because I think it's pretty okay and mediocre, I give it 3 stars for now.
Maybe in the future I'll update this review if there's something else on the menu that wows us.

Ordered eggplant parm on penne for take out. Was told that the eggplant slices were skinned and they weren’t. The eggplant parm was poorly cooked and the penne was dry and stiff.
Nicky’s Place in East Haven never disappoints! Amazing pizza, the best wings, hearty pasta dinners, huge fresh salads, stacked sandwiches, exceptional fried seafood dinners and juicy burgers—everything is delicious. Ashley is the star behind the bar, and Anthony, the owner, works nonstop to make sure every bite is perfect. Great food, great people, great vibes!

I went there today in the past a great pizza when I ate it there 3 weeks ago I ordered 2 pizzas to go when I got home they were burnt to a crash the bend week I orders 2”-24 wings o lg / flats in the order. Today I got pizza to go if was burnt again I don’t be getting pizza of wings there anymore but I will go for the calamari I smdk told bartender about the 2 burnt pizza. And she said sorry. Nov even a Lenny off on the wings. Not a good business woman. Owner Anthony is a very nice guy but j guess he xs t be there all the time

This place is the epitome of what a bar should be. Immaculate vibes and atmosphere. Restaurant quality food designed for a bar. Tip: Honey siracha wings are to die for! They host events on special days such as the Super Bowl and 4th of July. Truly a place that is made to take friends and just having a great time. Definitely will be coming back!!!
