WOW! I felt compelled to write this review after trying this joint a few times. A couple times during and after the pandemic, and just this week. As a native Nutmegger born and raised on the CT shoreline, having been endlessly spoiled by the awesome seafood here and having worked in a fish market growing up... This may rival some of my favorite spots. Had the shrimp and clam strips, with a side of hush puppies. Everything hit. The seasoning (cajun) was incredible it's the closest I've had to NOLA style, cooked perfectly, and the just the right amount of batter. Really feel the price is fair for the amount of food they give you, especially during these inflation times. Even the coleslaw, which I'm very picky about and I only eat from one place (Fish Tale), was great. Definitely recommend.

I went there for this first time on 7/29 and it was great. Generous portion sizes, and it’s all made to order. I highly recommend the fried lobster tail as well as the onion rings!

WOW. The food was very good. The chicken wings and tenders are so crispy. The pork is very flavorful and juicy. Great prices for the amount of food. I recommend it to people who like soul food. Candied yams, collard greens, mac & cheese, and much more. Great place. The only thing I would have liked is a better sitting area.

Hands down this place is a 10/10, 5 star establishment. Not only is the food amazing, the owners are friendly and make you feel like your at their diner table. There is love in their food, seasons you can taste it with every bit. Tables to sit outside on a beautiful day. I drove 45 minutes and it was more then worth it. We will be back. You won’t be sorry.
I placed an order a few weeks ago, the service was a bit slow, but I get it everything was made fresh, I ordered the fried rib and fish combos. Fish was good, ribs were ok. I personally didn’t like the yams or Mac and cheese. I’m not deterring anyone from giving the food a try. In my opinion I think he needs a few extra hands to get the food out faster. Much luck and prosperity on your business.

Tried various items on the menu! The Fried Fish Platter with Cajun French fries, Cornbread and Coleslaw, Seasoned Rice, Hush puppies, Spicy Beef patty. All tasty with great service. Definitely going back to try other options on the menu!
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and today was the day. Got a pulled pork sandwich, fries, coleslaw. It's a clean, family run take-out place. Driving home my mouth was watering because it smelled so good. I was not disappointed. Sandwich stuffed with tender pulled pork, fries weren't greasy. Definitely gonna try other dishes from papa's.

First off, let me start by saying the customer service was outstanding James Walked us through the menu, helped us make our selections. The food was super fresh. The chicken was crispy and super flavorful. We will be definitely coming back.

Ever since I left NYC 10+ years ago I've missed Golden Krust beef patties. This place has that exact flavor and type of beef patty I've missed so damned much! I ordered their wings which are sizeable and crispy! The sauces are on point and not too slathered on so you can still taste the wing itself. Also their Sweet Potato fries are phenomenal. It's extra crispy on the outside but not that wet sogginess on the inside when you cook sweet potato fries. They have that down to a science. It's a small spot but my wife, son and I were able to eat and chow down comfortable there. The owners are awesome and kind as well and checked in on if we were enjoying the food. I came back in today to pick up some more beef patties and some curry ones as well. But this is going to be our go to spot for wings and things ? I can't wait to try out their ribs!
