Food is good. Service is ok. It's across from the beach, which does make for a nice environment in the warmer weather. It's definitely worth the visit.

The Best Cheese Burger Platter, I have had in 56 Years. The price was right, let's keep it that way. I ate there today. Tuesday April 9 , 2024. Hats off , to the owner and who ever made my burger. My girl loves the Scrod. Thank you, Darrell Pagano of East Haven.

We came here for dinner and ordered a variety of different dishes. Everything was amazing, especially the clam strips and seafood platter with scrod, scallops etc. Highly recommend this place! The staff there were also very attentive and accommodating ?

Used to always go to the Sandpiper growing up. Was back in town and when to grab a bite on a Sunday afternoon. Not too busy.First and foremost, we ordered glasses of water and they tasted bad, like really bad. So we switched to sodas with no ice because we weren’t sure if the water was funky or if the ice had a weird taste.Secondly, the dishes aren’t what they used to be. I ordered a fried calamari platter. Less calamari than I remember, there used to be a bunch of them on the plate which would be small and have the tentacle ones. These were big, only the rings, and it was less than I remembered. Plus, the marinara it comes with, tastes like really crappy jarred marinara. And, when we asked for the check, the waitress didn’t even ask if we wanted to bag our food, she just grabbed the plates. We wanted our leftovers to bring home, but were just a bit stunned by it, especially as I had just put a piece of calamari in my mouth before she walked over. Not like it used to be and kind of disappointed by it.Also, thankfully she wasn’t our waiter, but one of the waiters told her table she dislikes seafood. At a seafood restaurant…..

I had this for dinner and o think I will become a regular while I'm here in New Haven. First of all, it was a pleasant little drive down to the beach area that this restaurant is situated at. Inside is sea-themed and I could see it being family friendly or cute date night spot. I got seated pretty quickly and the waitress was friendly and attentive. I knew when my pina colada arrived that this was going to be a treat. think what won me over was the lobster roll. Tender, buttery, warm lobster on a buttered roll. I didn't order dessert, but I'm sure that would be just as good. I did order a second entree to take home: the shrimp scampi which tasted fantastic. I'll be back again is all I'm going to say. Ample parking and I went during a week night.

One of the coldest days of the year but inside the Sandpiper, it looked and felt like summer! Loved it. A lucky find on our way home from NYC. The warm lobster rolls hit the spot. We hope to visit them again when we can enjoy the lovely patio and feel the ocean breezes.

The food was not very good. The lobster ravioli sauce tasted like acetone. The muscles leaked all over the bag and in my car despite getting a new bag before I left. I was told 12 minute wait time which was amazing but got there in 25 and still had to wait. I also should have been told which entrance to use on the phone. My husband wasn't pleased with the combo plater either as some of it wasn't cooked all the way through. The only good things we got were our kids chicken tender platter and the muscles tasted just fine despite our leaking issue. I used to go to this restaurant as a kid and it was a treat but I was just plain disappointed going as an adult.

Now is a great time to beat the crowds. The service was great and the food was excellent. They really did not disappoint!
