I have to say the cakes are good, but the customer service in the store is horrendous. These ladies have such an attitude that it’s unacceptable. I think they need to realize they are not the only cake place in Connecticut and for the money they charge we do not have to deal with nasty attitudes and on top of that get over you’re in East Haven, Connecticut, not Madison. I definitely will not be returning or referring them to anybody

I order a cake from Sugar twice a year for my son and daughters birthday. Absolutely delicious cakes and cupcakes! And they look amazing! Sugar never disappoints! Great job on making my batman cake vision come to life! It looked and tasted amazing!

Found the Sugar Bakery while searching for bakeries nearby we decided to take a chance the store is clean very well organized, and the staff were absolutely friendly, helpful and patient with us! The wait time was reasonable. We needed a birthday cake and found it easy to purchase one without having to order ahead of time. The cake along with cupcakes were absolutely deliciously moist not too sugary just right! The frosting was delicious, fluffy, and light. The cake was exquisite not too dense not too moist perfect. Our son who does not like cakes or could never finish one finished this cake. He said, “It’s absolutely delicious.” We will definitely be back for special occasions!

I walked in to this place for the first time. It looked just as good as the reviews. All I wanted was some fresh macarons. I was so excited to hear them say “yes, we have them“. Until I saw them. I usually just buy a box of frozen macarons at Stop & Shop (right down the street from this bakery) on Saturday’s. In fact, these same exact macarons for $6 a box and a box contains 12. Instead, I was sold the same plastic tray the frozen ones come in, cut in half, with only 6 macarons for $7. I know this as I brought it home and laid it next to my box of frozen ones just to be sure. This isn’t a great business practice and the fact they are reselling frozen baked items and advertising them as not only their own, but freshly baked is very disappointing. I will not be returning to this bakery, not even for a cupcake that I’ve heard are to die for. Tbh, coming from the freezer versus the display case at the bakery, the ones directly from Stop & Shop are actually much fresher.

This bakery is wonderful, they have one of the Best cupcakes I ever had. They are truly the Icing on a cake so delicious, so moist. Not too sweet, just right.

I ordered a gender reveal-themed cake from this bakery, and I absolutely loved it! The cake was not only delicious but also beautifully designed with a perfect color theme that matched the occasion. It exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend SugarBakery for any special event!
I love this place! There are 2 sides, a little shop where you can buy all sorts of little trinkets, cute kid friendly items, all sorts of candies, chocolate, etc. it looks so pretty and lit up, it's almost exciting when you first walk in. Then the best part, the bakery side!!! My absolute favorite cupcake is the Toasted Almond by far, but honestly, you can't go wrong with any that you choose! They are delicious! And then they're macaroons!!!! Mmmmm....also so yummy!! I will say this, they are on the expensive side. Like a little over $3 a cupcake. So you will spend a wee bit for some good sweets. A nice treat once in a while & personally, worth stopping in every time I'm in that area, since I live an hour away. Thank you!!
