Great night at Abate Apizza at the Lodge last night with the cousins.
My family and I love the lodge! The environment is so warm and welcoming you feel like you are part of the family. The food is excellent as well, the antipasto, broccoli rabe and sausage and NY style calamari are some of my favorites so far! The staff is so friendly and accommodating I can’t recommend enough, glad to have such a great addition to the area.
Delicious Dining at The Lodge at Silver Sands! 🌟 We had such a wonderful meal at The Lodge! I ordered the meatball salad and customized it with hot cherry peppers, ricotta cheese, and balsamic dressing—and it was absolutely amazing. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the meatballs were tender and full of flavor. It’s a dish I’ll definitely be coming back for! Even better, my granddaughter can’t stop talking about her meal—she’s already asked when we can return for more penne alla vodka and the cheesy garlic bread, which were both big hits. From the warm service to the tasty food, The Lodge at Silver Sands is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots. Highly recommend!
Abate’s at the Lodge – absolutely unacceptable.
I came in and very clearly explained that I’m vegan. I ordered the gluten-free crust pizza with no cheese and broccoli rabe. After waiting nearly 20 minutes while the rest of my table was served, I was finally told they “don’t have” gluten-free crust—even though it’s on the menu.
I then ordered sautéed broccoli rabe and made it clear multiple times that I did not want sausage. What did I get? Broccoli rabe with sausage. Sent it back. What came out next was so salty I could barely eat it. This didn’t feel like incompetence—it felt like punishment.
Why? Because earlier, a child at a nearby table screamed and spilled a drink. I glanced over—like any normal person would. Turns out it was the hostess’s family. She saw me look, got offended, and spoke with the waitress before my food was completely messed up—not once, but twice.
This wasn’t bad service. This was petty, passive-aggressive retaliation. That kind of behavior is dangerous when people rely on your staff to respect dietary needs. Whether it’s veganism, allergies, or anything else—food should NEVER be used to settle personal grudges.
I will never return. And if you have dietary restrictions or any expectations of professionalism, I strongly suggest you stay far away.
I thought this was a great find. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it. My only complaint was that my chicken was over cooked.

I’ve been craving the beef tips for a while! Best food I’ve eaten in a long time! Mark is amazing!!
The lodge is my new favorite restaurant. My waitress, Francesca, was absolutely amazing and the food was great! Would absolutely recommend!

All of the food was terrible. Bread was yeasty, Stale burger bun and lack luster burger, off tasting fish, risotto that was dry with no flavor and very little substance. The pictures are also misleading. I never leave reviews but felt the need.

First time at the The Lodge at Silver Sands tonight. Bartender Mark was great. Food was excellent. We had the wings, steak tips and bruschetta. Dessert was good. Hope to make this our go to place and so should you! If you live anywhere near here, go and tell your friends. Open to all.

I was so happy to hear you did not need to be a member to enjoy this great dining experience! The food was amazing, and service was top notch. Mark, the bartender, went out of his way- especially when I stole the cherry from our dessert and my wife was about to kill me.
I cannot recommend this place more. Great for date nights, casual hangs or friends/family gathering. Best part is that we ate dinner, had two drinks and dessert for $70 before dip. Insanely reasonable! Could not recommend it more

We were delighted to find out that you can dine at The Lodge without a membership to the beach club! Totally worth our little trip. Food was exceptional, as was the service! Bartender Mark greeted us with a smile and a welcome 30 minutes prior to closing. We were anticipating being turned away- and were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome. Great for date nights, gatherings and casual hang outs. We will definitely be back- and often!
Great new spot in East Haven. Relaxed and cozy with an amazing menu and great service—especially Mark who introduced us to a perfect mojito and was attentive throughout the evening. Definitely recommend!
We decided to have dinner last night with six people. We sat down around 7 PM and didn’t get our entrées till 8:45. The server was very nice and was trying very hard but it’s clear that they don’t have their stuff together yet. I don’t know of any place that puts chili oil and Prince Edward Island muscles. My nephew got the kids mac & cheese and it tasted like it was out of a box. To pay $300 for six people for dinner and have a meal and have it take almost 2 hours to get your entrée is unacceptable.
