I've been eating Tolli's Pizza for almost 30 years. They've changed owners in that time but the pizza recipes stay consistent. For those people who had bad experiences, let me just say that this, like any place in New or East Haven, Tollis is going to give you a pie with some mild char on it. It adds to the flavor and the texture. If you don't want that, go to Sbaros or something.
I can't speak to anything BUT their pizza, which has used high quality ingredients the entire time I've gone. Cheese has great elasticity and flavor, sauce is delicious (though in my view nothing beats Sally's sauce), crust is one of a kind and quite flavorful. As a kid, my favorite was pepperoni. As an adult, my go-to pies are 1. Chicken Florentine, extra garlic, well-done, ? 2. Mozz (with red sauce of course), 3. Mozz and mushroom of olive.
This is my pizza place to go to anytime I either want a Chicken Florentine Pizza or when the lines in New Haven are just too long for my hunger, and I have NEVER been disappointed with their pizza. Below is my favorite from them.

Ordered an Italian combo mayo, cheese, tomato, oil and vinegar. And got bread meat lettuce and tomato. Awful. Hastily made. Forgot my drink. Awful service. Been going to Tollis long time. Perhaps it's new management, but it'll be some time before they get my money again. Thanks for nothing. ? Shame.

Pizza is OK but the sandwiches are not consistent every time are made different! They are very polite with the customers but unfortunately my take out orders never came out right, always something missing or wrong order.
