The food and atmosphere was great nice and quiet. our server was very attentive. But food well over priced and it wasn't even worth it. Sad cause I expected better but once again you can't count on other reviews. Hopefully they can expand their menus and offer better prices.

Trattoria Da Lepri is our favorite restaurant to eat at. The food is outstanding and the service excellent. We've eaten at all the top-rated restaurants in the area and Trattoria Da Lepri tops them all. It's like having NYCity fine dining here in Ellington, CT

Have been here before a few times. No issues with service. Valentineās Day was a bit of a bait and switch with the āspecialā menu. No pasta on the menu, no meatballs, menu reflected more of a steak restaurant with filet, short rib, a few seafood options. I even asked for the meatballs just to see if they could make a few but was told no. And of course the special menu items were about 10 dollars more than the regular menu items. Not saying I wouldnāt come back but the place I went to tonight was not an Italian restaurant. Just a very strange feel. Perhaps a recommendation would be to post the menu somewhere or inform people when calling itās a different menu. I likely would have made a different decision.

We held our company holiday dinner at Trattoria Da Lepri this year. From the moment we made a reservation through the end of our dinner, the service was excellent. The owner touched base prior to the evening to confirm our reservation and see if we wanted any appetizers ready upon arrival. The food was incredible, and portion sizes were just right. The desserts and cocktails were just as delicious as the main course. I will definitely be back, and I know that the rest of our team would agree. Thank you for an excellent evening!

Absolutely love it...great food , service and atmosphere.
The menu is not huge, which I personally appreciate! The fresh bread, antipasto (crispy brussels), and main courses were fantastic. Meals were pricey, but the quality made it worth it, in my opinion. We considered dessert but were too full from dinner.

We went to Trattoria da Lepri for the first time Saturday night and LOVED it. The calamari app wasn't prepared like we're used to but it was delicious!! Light and lemony. The salmon special was perfectly cooked, including the veggies - brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. Soooo good!
My husband loved the boneless short ribs, just wished there were more potatoes. Really terrific food and the atmosphere is simple, beautiful and relaxing. Can't wait to go back :)

An excellent restaurant that's unassuming from the outside. Four of us on a Saturday night with a 7:30 reservation. Cocktails were good and house made bread was great, served with garlic oil. First course was Deb's Meatballs as well as the house made mozzarella and tomatoes(special), that were said to be grown on site. Both were excellent. Meatballs were tender, but light, with a rustic tomato sauce that was complex but balanced. The tomato and mozz was beautifully presented, large rough chop on the tomatoes with a drizzle of olive oil, very fresh mozz, perfect consistency with just the right amount of balsamic, garnished with enough bitter greens to balance each bite. Entrees: Pan Seared Halibut, Balsamic Braised Short Rib. Halibut(my fav fish): perfectly composed, bright citrus, creamy richness, umami from the sucotash with a salty finish from the bacon. Fish was just slightly overcooked for me, but that may be a matter of preference. Short Rib: perfect, classic with a twist. Melt in your mouth, perfectly caramelized with just the right amount of acid from the balsamic, on a bed of veg and mash that were flawless. Other couple got the Shrimp Oreganata and Rigatoni Bolognese, which were said to both be icredibly delicious. Dessert: house made cannoli as well as the apple tart Ala mode (special). Cannoli was bad, a great attempt but a flop. The shell was excellent, light & crisp. The filling was the downfall, the ricotta should've been drier and sweeter, it was overly wet and borderline salty, but garnished nicely with chopped pistachio(not the reason the filling was salty) and chocolate chips. The apple tart was excellent, flaky crust, the texture/flavor of the apple was perfect with a side car of j.foster vanilla ice cream, you can do no better. The waitress knew how to do her job well, but didn't engage beyond the bare minimum. Overall, this restaurant is well beyond par for the area. I would stack it up against any high end restaurant in the tri state area. I will be back, often.
