Great place to stop and relax or grab-n-go. Staff were very pleasant, breakfast was amazing. Tried the salmon filet with my smoked bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. The iced mocha tasted better than I expected. Wish it was cool enough outside to enjoy the patio, but I will definitely be back. Essex, what a cute town! Thanks for your hospitality.

I’ve been coming to Olive Oyl’s for a few years now; breakfast and lunch. It’s always the first place I think of when going out for a bite. The staff are always kind and the Kendall’s treat me like family! Definitely grab a dirty iced chai with your lunch/breakfast, it will not disappoint ;)

Olive Oyl’s is an institution. Family owned. Family run. The food is “off the charts” good. There is literally something for everyone. Their attention to detail, whether making a specialty sandwich or a grilled cheese, is beyond reproach. Being able to sit back and enjoy Main Street Essex and listen to great music ( Sunday morning jazz) only adds to the uniqueness of this restored gas station from a time gone by. If you’re looking for great food, a pleasant staff and a wonderful spot … put Olive Oyl’s on your “Gotta check it out” list. You won’t be disappointed. And you’ll look forward to your next visit.

This review will probably removed, but I think this falls under “atmosphere”. This place sells Donald Trump promotional products, businesses that broadcast their political affiliations, welcome the internal thoughts on thus affiliation. I don’t think it’s fun to think about politics while getting sandwiches. If a customer feels uncomfortable with that affiliation’s actions, it negatively affects the atmosphere for that customer. Sandwiches are for everyone. All of it being right next to the register makes it even worse. It feels as if my sandwich is a thumbs up to the actions of thus political party. Before this boiling point I ate here all the time, food itself is good, which makes me walking out of their angry over “atmosphere” unfortunate.
