I love visiting the Griswold Inn. The staff is so accommodating and I enjoy eating in the tavern by the fireplace. So enjoyable and in one of my favorite towns in the United States Will always come back here to visit. Love the ambience and the history. You wont be disappointed

Griswold Inn is outstanding! The hotel is a wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend that to all. The tavern part is the best for food and drinks, but sadly the main restaurant was not the best, food was cold, wine was in a dirty glass, just not worth it.

We had a very nice dinner there, celebrating our anniversary. The food was delicious! However, we noticed towards the end of our meal that every other table had been served a basket of rolls or bread. We never got any, and wondered if you had to ask for them. By then it was much too late in our meal to even bother.

Older crowd, Food was ok. We were put in a corner of a large dining room and there was a screaming baby in the room for the first half of the dinner. One of our friends asked for a drink which they didn't have (but was on the menu on the table) and then he asked for a cappuccino after dinner which they didn't have. Waitress did her best but had too many tables to service. It just wasn't the quality experience we have had in the past.

We were fortunate to attend an art tour provided by the owner. We saw beautiful paintings, prints and memorabilia centered on steamship travel on the Connecticut River. We capped off our day with a delicious dinner in the historic inn. Thank you!

Not inexpensive, but the tap room is excellent and the Ruben sandwich and the short ribs sandwiches are wonderful.Food & drinks: Always good food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. Always a pleasure to visit for food, drinks, and a walk about town.

We have dined here before. The atmosphere is very nice. It can be somewhat noisy due to wood everywhere. For this particular experience, service was slow and not very attentive. We placed our orders and waited 53 minutes for our sandwiches while two newly seated tables got their food before us. The server did not make any mention to keep us up to date. When one sandwich arrived it did not exclude mushrooms. The server never came over to check on us once we received the food. She did notice at checkout time there was an issue and comped us a desert. Our experience was disappointing.
