Transilvania Restaurant and Bar

My friends and I went to Transylvania Restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The owner was so sweet and nice! She made sure we had an enjoyable experience. Our food was delicious and we weren't made to feel rushed. We enjoyed our apps and took our time decided on our main course. Then enjoyed the burning man dessert along w/some Pálinka, which was new to all of us, but we thoroughly enjoyed it!!

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and made me feel as if I was at Sunday dinner w/family!

There's a cute store inside where they sell fun merchandise.

They also had a magician that entertained us w/a few card tricks!!

Can't wait to go back to try another delicious meal!!

Our first time visit there with friends and it was a really nice experience! We had traditional European food items, all were delicious no concerns or complaints. Wonderfull meal followed up by pistachio cheesecake, and an enjoyable cappuccino.

I don't have ready access to Romanian food and I periodically crave it. I don't live near East Haven, so on the rare occasion that I'm nearby and I have time, I try to stop in. Their menu is wide and varied and I'm sure it's all delicious, but I can only speak for the sarmale cu mămăligă, because it's all I ever order. I know their mici *looks* good, but that's all I can testify. Their sarmale is absolutely delicious. I'll be honest: it doesn't compare to my friend Simona's mom's (I would kill for her sarmale), but that's not a fair comparison. You're a stranger and Simona's mom probably won't cook for you. It's still really good.

Nice place to take the family I suppose. NOT for a romantic dinner. There was no parking. They were out of the meals we came for. Table was very small and cramped despite having a reservation. Did not get to see the strolling magician. Atmosphere was noisy and dark but decorated nicely to capture the Dracula flair. Food was good and served hot. Service staff was nice and attentive and apologized for having such a busy evening. All in all, a mediocre experience. In fairness, it was cool enough to give a second chance.

Awesome atmosphere! Our waitress was awesome and explained the dishes clearly to make sure we knew exactly what we were getting. The food was amazing! Highly recommend!

The staff are very accomodating and friendly.

We took a day trip from Rhode Island just to eat here, and wow — it was so worth it! My friends and I were seriously impressed. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the drinks plus all the little details were so cute and thoughtfully done.

The owner is such a sweetheart — she even gave me some great tips for my upcoming trip to Romania this year, which made the experience feel extra special and personal. We had the best time and will 100% be coming back for more papanși! Highly recommend!

First of all I'm taken back by the people who leave bad reviews shame on them.My review is late but We had a fantastic dinner and a great time very busy during Halloween but great time.Owner was apologetic for long wait but we are patient people.We will be back I wish it was closer thanks again.

The restaurant that I booked a reservation at and it was confirmed was in fact CLOSED! We were booked and confirmed for 12 noon. When in fact was being cleaned at that time and not opened until 4pm. Staff was very nice but we are not very happy with the reservation services.

Great place to enjoy Romanian and American Food!!!! Unique atmosphere and excellent service!!!!! Recommend to visit and taste something new!!!!
