The food was OK, but on a Thursday night with a 6:15pm reservation they ran out of two main menu items which was a bummer. Also, I felt the portion sizing was very small for the price that they were asking for. This was my third time back and I feel like the quality has gone down considerably. The staff was lovely though.

Very lovely vibes, gorgeous decor and beautiful food. But the flavor of the food just didn't hit. The drinks were spectacular. I think all the food items kind of lacked salt. We ordered the octopus which was just a weird dish. I think it needed acid. Pastas seemed homemade but again just felt like they needed salt or cheese, or just something extra. The waiter was great and overall ambience was great, but I've eaten better food at less fancy restaurants.

The service was very good. The host very welcoming. The tables are too close together & too small, the plates barely fit, very little elbow room & too close to next table with conversations being distracting. The entrees were expensive but small. No bread offered. Salads are extra which seems to be the trend. No extras ( would think this would be part of offering with the prices & small portions). Not very generous. The flavors very standard and nothing particularly special for the cost. The staff really tried & were very attentive & friendly. But the food just didn't wow. In the end we had a large bill for the two of us. But the flavors were not enough to bring us back.

Enjoyed my girls dinner here. The starter focaccia bread is delish but wish it came with more the portions were a bit small. All the pastas looked great and were big portions. I got the bolognese which was delicious but came with so much I wasn't able to finish it. The drinks were great but also on the smaller side. Overall would come back for sure but is a bit expensive

A top restaurant in Fairfield. Very good cocktails, the food, presentation, ingredients and taste are first rate. The host (maybe manager) could have been more hospitable (but it was busy and everything else shined)

We dined on a Saturday night at 5:15. The restaurant was empty when we went in and the service over the top. By the time we finished at 7pm you had to ask for someone to visit the table. The food was excellent which is why we probably keep going.

I so enjoyed this restaurant in the past but something has changed! Terrible service, wrong appetizer delivered to our table followed by the wrong salad. And the cacio e pepe - once a standout- was less than ordinary. Sorry to say we wont be back!

Great food, cocktails and wine list. Perfect Carbonara with guanciale. Lots of flavor and great service by Edwin(Bartender)

I had the Caesar salad and the tartufo mushroom pasta which was unbelievably delicious - it was dining in Italy where I ate some form of tartufo everyday for a month, including hunting them in the woods!! We went back for lunch.with friends a few days later!

From the minute I walked into Il Pellicano I felt welcomed. Massimo greeted me warmly and the ambiance felt so warm and as well. The food was exceptional from start to finish! Can't wait to go back.

This is only our second time trying Il Pellicano. Unfortunately I am not able to write a favorable review. I'm not certain which was more disappointing m; the hurried service by the maitre de to obtusely try to rush us to order, finish our meal or pay and leave to open up our table after receiving our bill. The food itself was not very good either. I had the appetizer of CARPACCIO. Not a good tasting of beef, sliced too thin and without any careful presentation. Disappointing! Main course was Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp lacked good garlic taste and pasta beneath without a good sauce or tasteful pasta. Almost sent it back and in retrospect I should have. My wife had the pasta Bolognese and also not a winner. Between the awful Maitre De and lackluster food preparation we have absolutely No plans to return. There are many other better choices for good Italian food in the area of Fairfield and Westport. The noise level additionally was almost entirely sounding out a decent conversation with a round table.

We came here a while back, they had been open about 6 weeks or so. We had reservations for 2 and were seated in main dining area upon arrival. The bar was pretty full, the dining area where we were about a third full. The busser came by and did his job with water, then it just unfolded in such a bad way.... The lady waiting on us dropped menus, we planned to order a cocktail first. She literally came back in 30 seconds to take drink order, even after we said we needed to look at cocktail list. (Seriously-why bother offering a list of craft cocktails and not allow people to view it??). Ordered a couple of Negronis... it's a rocks glass with an artisan ice cube and the booze is up about 1/3 - 1/2 of glass. Sorry, but if you're charging $15 or $16 for that drink, at least do a decent pour. Drinks on table, not even a chance for a sip or ? Waitress back for food order.... Once again (feeling rushed for no reason). I explained that I haven't had a chance to look at menu and she replied that I should have a sip of my drink and she'd return for order. Not good. (Restaurant is still 1/3 full). Food comes - a carpaccio with so much grated (not shaved) Parmesan that it was nearly inedible. The proportions were so out of whack, and who puts grated cheese on this dish (no less a 1/2" layer)? A kale salad was overdressed to the point of being laughable. Entrees (no bread for our table for some reason even though we saw it served at others). A pappardelle pasta with a ragu of short ribs sounded good, but when it arrived, the undercooked (chewy) pieces of meat were cut into chunks the size of a half dollar. Just a terrible rendition of what this could have been, not to mention a complete waste of an expensive cut of meat. I had the "double cut" pork chop, which was not. It was probably an inch thick (so why call it 2x cut)? It's a pork chop, that's it...and it's not worth the $36 you are asking for it. Cute space, terrible service (restaurant still 1/3 full when we left), food was literally a half a star. Not worth giving a second look with so many other great places in town.

The Columbian bartender will overcharge. He is preying on the fact that you had "too many" or won't dispute the bill in front of a woman. Check your bill and buyer beware

Service was horrendous, from the time we arrived they were pushing us to order (even before drinks arrived), and repeatedly trying to move us out of the table. (Yet, it took them 3 reminders and 20+ minutes to get another drink). Will not go back.

First time at this relatively new place. Chose a Sunday evening, so no crowds and no noise. The menu is attractive, the cacio e pepe I am told was excellent, and I was amused by a clever play on chicken saltimbocca, which used all the appropriate ingredients but played with them differently on the plate. Calimari appetizer was excellent, Caesar salads were huge and we would only split one next time. Maybe the waitperson could have warned us. Wine list is good, my negroni cocktail was lovely. Didn't try desserts. If you go on a quiet night, try to get the table by the fireplace. We did and it was great. The place is much larger than you expect and absolutely beautiful.
