Rio Bravo Tacos & Tequila

I went to rio bravo in September 7 2024 very disappointed with the food and the drinks the price is very expensive and the food portion very small and the margarita served in small glass. They changed the service.

I recently visited Rio Bravo Tacos and Taqueria, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I decided to sit at the bar, but the service was incredibly slow, both in the evening and during the day. Despite sitting there for a while, I was completely ignored by the staff, which left me feeling quite frustrated.

To make matters worse, I was overcharged for my drink—about $5 more than what I had ordered. When I asked for the check to clarify the charges, I was told that I couldn’t have one, which was both confusing and unacceptable.

The food didn’t redeem the experience. I tried the tacos and queso dip, both of which were disappointing. The tacos were incredibly basic and lacked any real flavor. The queso dip was even worse—the cheese was curdling together, making it anything but creamy. The menu promised green chilis on top of the queso, but I guess that was too much to ask for because they were nowhere to be found.

As if the poor service, overcharging, and disappointing food weren’t bad enough, I was constantly bothered by flies throughout my time there. The flies were all over me and the area around me, which made me lose my appetite. I couldn't even consider eating the food because the flies were swarming around it.

Overall, my experience at Rio Bravo was disappointing, and I would not recommend it based on the issues I encountered with service, cleanliness, and food quality.

Ok, let's do it. I found this little place right around the corner from Bjs in Fairfield. I have a new love for Birria Tacos, and they have them, so why not give them a shot. The place is nice, small, very clean. The staff is friendly. They have Happy Hour at the Bar from 3:00 to 6:00. The prices are reasonable. The plates are small. I ordered the Birria dinner platter. You get 1/2 a cup of rice a 1/4 cup of beans and your sauce with 2 tacos for 20.00...The food was good but not what I was looking for the Birria was lacking the cinnamon flavor. My friend had a steak bowl. The steak was cooked to perfection seasoned well, but it wasn't filling. Stop by check it out it wasn't bad at all.

Rio Bravo Mexican Restaurant provided an exceptional experience for my grandson's birthday. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, with the highlight being the Mariachi players who added a special touch to the celebration. Their music was engaging and entertaining, making the event unforgettable. The food was delicious, showcasing authentic Mexican flavors. Overall, we had an excellent time and can't wait to return.

I placed an order for fiesta salad for lunch. The price was listed for $13 online. When I went to pick up the order, they charge me $17 and change. The food was disappointing did not taste good and I did not like that the prices were different from what was listed online. I would never order or eat from here again!

Last night I ordered the Taco bowl (ground beef). I woke up at 4am sweating and ran to the bathroom to vomit. I have been consistently throwing up for 8 hours now. This place is disgusting.

We were very pleased with the quality of the food at Rio Bravo Tacos and Tequila in Fairfield, CT. Emma, our server, was exceptionally kind and always seemed to be there when we needed her. We ordered guacamole and watched as it was freshly made before our eyes, and it turned out to be delicious. I can’t recall the name of the dish, but I ordered a shrimp dish with mushroom and rice. My husband went for a beef quesadilla, and both dishes were quite generous. Since we went during lunch, there were only a few customers. I plan to return another time for dinner.

The food we ordered wasn’t even worth the one star I’m forced to give. We 2 bravo nacho with steak and 1 kids taco with was delivered. Let me start off by say this was the worst nacho dish I’ve ever had. The refried beans were on the bottom on the container, with a literally a spoon fool of everything else. The nachos were soggy, the steak had no flavor and it was plopped in on spot!! I tried giving it to my dog and she smelled it and walked away. My little girl took a bite of her taco said, “YUCK!” and tossed it in the garbage !!!! A complete waste of $57.00. This was our first and last time eating from this place!!! I’m sure the good reviews about this place are false!!!

My friend and I were the ONLY 2 people here for lunch at noon on a Thursday...This should have been our first clue to the worst dining and eating experience we've ever had. Waited 10 minutes until someone took our drink order for regular frozen margaritas, which were served in rocks glasses and tasted like plain daquiri mix. No alcohol in these white, disgusting concoctions. Tacos and quesadillas were subpar. The coleslaw was warm so I did not eat another bite in case the mayo was bad. Our waiter had no idea how to provide good service and made a very feeble attempt. Why don't restaurant owners/manager train their staff anymore???
