This place is a gem. Struck up a conversation with the owner who was working behind the counter. Al is great guy. We stopped in for ice cream and left with some great tips for out-of-towners and even some reading recommendations. Very happy we stopped in. Oh, and the ice cream is delicious.

We were only in Connecticut for two days, and this was one of our favorite places that we visited. They had incredible crepes that left us full for hours. If we ever come back to Connecticut, we will come back here FOR SURE!

New to working in the Fairfield area. Ventured downtown on my lunch break, so didn’t have much time. There was no staff in the dirty old fashioned candy/ice cream shop. When dirty the old guy emerged from the restroom, I asked him if he worked here and he said “I own the place.” (With attitude) Def was like pulling teeth to get customer service. Lots of interesting flavors tho and a generous portion. The candy cane flavor was crunchy and delish! Would have been a great experience if the guy wasn’t rude and inconvenienced by me.

I had never been here before, and I’ve lived here 22 years and this place looks so cute so I popped in! I walked in, place is deserted and no one behind the counter. Rows of candy. An older man whom I assume is the owner eventually appeared… Extremely gruff manner and acted as if I was bothering him even being in there. Some of the ice cream that I saw in the case looked old and melted - so I left. Not sure that I will be back. Shame because it looks so attractive from outside.

I think this place used to be fun, I’ve heard people talk about it fondly, but it is very subpar and expensive. We came for the ice cream, the freezer clearly wasn’t working well and the ice cream was partially melted. The candy is poorly displayed and the bulk candy looks unappetizing. The tables outside were random and kind of seemed like they were just collected from garage sales or something. I love Fairfield and I want small businesses to succeed, so I would love it if this place made a comeback and cleaned up and became a cute destination for ice cream and candy. But right now, I was honestly so disappointed that I apologized to my guests I brought here because I had heard it was much better than it actually was. I really do hope it turns around and becomes nice again.

I loved the look of the shop, very nostalgic. The workers were very nice and patient. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. Loved their ice cream flavors. Rum n’ raisins was my favorite. Great place! I recommend them 1000%.
