I really liked puerto Lima the couple times I had it in the past. But the pernil was way too salty today. I love flavor and salt, but it was hard to enjoy today.

Driving through Gales Ferry and this place caught my eye. I really like Puerto Rican/Cuban cuisine and we were hungry so we figured we’d give it a shot and it was excellent!! So happy we stopped, food was excellent and the owner was really nice. We will definitely be going back.

1st time here, eat-in Monday lunch, two adults. Warm welcome, comfortable dining area. Good mix of customers -- families, singles, dine-in and take-out. While we were waiting a woman picked up her to-go and happily recommended her heirloom tomato sandwich, which we'll save for another day. Had a very generous & tasty Cubano with shoestring potatoes served in a take-out carton with a Del's Lemonade -- a half sandwich and some potatoes saved for later. Also an order of pernil (fork-tender roast pork, white rice, red beans, fried plantains) served in a large lidded take-out bowl with an Inca Kola from the cooler. Surprisingly-sized serving, shareable for sure, over 2/3 went home with us. Our lunch was great, and serving in take-out containers sure makes sense, given their portion sizes.. Check out the menu online, great options.

I knew it was gonna be great when I saw that all the plants were thriving.
That was confirmed when the food arrived, and again with every bite! The portions were huge, I wound up taking half home so I could save room for dessert.
100% would eat here weekly if I lived nearby!

Very cultural restaurant. The lomo saltado is highly recommended. The service was very friendly, you can table games to play. Definitely family friendly.

Amazing food! I ordered the pernil with rice, pink beans, and sweet plantains. And a side of tostones. I haven't had traditional latin food this delicious in years. Puerto Lima has just become my favorite local restaurant. I can't wait to try more of their dishes.

Nice little family owned spot. The empanadas were made fresh to order and delicious. Busier than we thought it would be. Have to live family owned.
