J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood Glastonbury

The Bartenders are always personable, and alert. Can't find a selection better than the speciality drinks and wines they carry! Dinner was great too! Service has always been the best here, and you can tell they do a great training and retention.

Food was excellent. We tried the new bacon appetizer and it was soooo good. Highly recommend! I was there to celebrate my birthday (like I do every year) and was just a little disappointed with how long we had to wait for everything, which is unusual. We found ourselves wondering where our waiter was. Felt like we interacted with the food runner more than the waiter. Otherwise, it was a great experience. We'll be back!

This was our first time dining at J Guilberts, in Glastonbury CT, per recommendation of my daughter. It was all as she described it to be. My husband and I both ordered the tenderloin with a side of scallops. Both were amazing. We also had the corn with bacon as well as the cauliflower au gratin. Again, both delicious. Reservations are needed. It was a perfect dining experience and we will definitely be going back.

Corbin was fantastic and catered to us just as we would expect the J. Gilbert's dining experience to be!

Have dined here several times and has always been great new menu now and steak was tough wasn't a great meal for the price.probably won't return.

As always, J. Gilberts never disappoints. Another great meal and this time from their new menu! Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent atmosphere.

Menu has changed and presentation of food has followed suit. Traditional garnishes adding to the flavor profile of the dish have been removed. Additionally, our table of 4 did not receive our food at the same time causing dishes to be room temperature versus hot while we waited. This is the first time in 20 years I left feeling a little disappointed in what I received as a meal.

We don't get to J Gilberts as often as we'd like, but they always deliver an excellent experience.

Glad we found this place! Our server Zach was very good!, Very attentive! Nice selection of cocktails. The ones we had were good but light on strength and short on pour. Just inconsistent. Crab cakes Caesar were excellent. Steaks were great and cooked perfect medium rare. Lobster tail the same! Sides were some of the best we have had at a steak house! Asparagus. Green Beans Sour Cream Mashed and the cream corn and bacon were all in the excellent category. Mousse Cake was a nice way to end the meal! We will be back for sure!!

I have been coming to this fine dining establishment for many many years. You can't go wrong with any item on the menu. The cocktails are absolutely delicious. Best I've ever had. And the steaks? Oh hell yeah absolutely awesome!!!

Omgggg my husband and I went there tonight for his birthday!!! Food was amazing!!! Everything was served hot and salads were fresh!!! Our server was incredible!!! We are definitely coming back!!!!

My truffle butter tasted like garlic! Terrible

We had a really good meal, wonderful ambiance, and an excellent server named Taylor. She was very pleasant and helped to make for a very nice evening out. The menu choices were great. Not a huge menu, but a perfect amount of variety. We ordered the cowboy steak and the seafood assortment so we could share some surf and turf items. The only thing that was disappointing was the lobster mac and cheese side dish. We found it. To be lacking in creaminess. It was good, but could've been much better. Everything else was excellent!

Excellent service, terrific waitstaff, and a delicious meal! We were not disappointed, from the sour bread to the wedge salad and the flank steak special and ahi tuna. Also, the half-price wine on Monday night was a great bonus!

This has been a destination restaurant for us as we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here. It is about a 45 minute drive but well worth it. The steaks are consistently excellent and we also very much enjoy the seafood options. Service here is also topnotch and the most recent server we had was very good. Highly recommend dining here.
