“I'm so glad my boyfriend made me go here. I thought it would be just like any walk in restaurant with mediocre food but I was so wrong! I’m an extremely picky eater and absolutely loved everything we got. This is also the first place I’ve been in a long time that actually had good salmon. They’re homemade dressing and marinate is so unique we went back in to buy a bottle after trying it with the complimentary salad we were given. 10/10 would go again!”

The food is always good and the two main guys there always remember my boyfriend and I's face. Best service, best food. “AMAZING. I saw a cake BBC made for a friend’s party, and it was so incredible and so delicious that I ordered the cake for my husband’s toga-themed birthday party from here. When the owner asked what I wanted, I told her to use her own creation, and I’m so glad I did. The cake was a true masterpiece with fig leaves, columns, frosting made to look like stone, and she even put his name on a plaque. It was a feast for the eyes, and all of our guests oohed and ahhed when they saw it. And it was DELICIOUS. I never saw a cake get devoured so quickly. There wasn’t a crumb left. This place will be our go-to for all of our occasions from now on. Simply amazing.”

“Tenth Hole Tavern is the best spot for casual dining/takeout this side of Glastonbury. Their food is excellent and the staff really knows how to show the customers a good time. Kendall and Kelly are the nicest and are very accommodating. Not to mention the full bar, expansive beer selection, and wide variety on the menu. Some of my personal favorites include the chicken tenders (with their house made buffalo sauce), the buttermilk chicken sandwich, and the oven roasted turkey wrap. Don’t sleep on the brick oven pizza either. Tenth Hole Tavern has earned a special place in my heart❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Patty Cakes is one of my all-time favorite bakeries! Everything I've had there has been absolutely delicious. My favorites are the ricotta pies (sweet, creamy filling in a mini pie crust) and the coffee cake, where the topping is as thick as the cake underneath. It's very rich - a little goes a long ways! - and it's the best coffee cake I've ever had (sorry, Grandma!) Stop by any time you need a little pick-me-up, the friendly staff will make sure you leave happy!”

“We have had food from the new location in Preston Connecticut three times now. They had only been two days, a few weeks, and now a few months when we are here. First impression was the cheese pizza had no taste but the deep dish pep was good. Second impression was similar. Now a few months into establishing, the cheese is delicious. Great sauce and cheese flavor and ratios. Crust is just right. We did have a few pieces of the Detroit/deep dish pep but not all of our deep dish tasted “Smokey.” The best way to explain it is like the smokiness of mezcal tequila. Most of the pep was charred so we suspect it was over cooked or was adjacent to something else in the oven that burnt. Overall, positive experience and in time, we think this restaurant will continue to strive and adjust recipes and cooking techniques to meet or exceed expectations.”

“I can't believe it took me 45 years to walk back into this building!

The last time I stepped inside, it was the South Glastonbury Pharmacy. During a recent trip back home to Glastonbury, I discovered it had become Harpo's Bakery, and what a wonderful surprise that was.

In fact, I visited three times during my four-day stay because it was just that good.

The bakery has comfortable dine-in seating, making it the perfect place to slow down and enjoy breakfast and a cup of coffee. The display cases are filled with an incredible variety of fresh baked goods, from muffins and pastries to cookies, breads, and rolls. Everything looked so good it was hard to decide what to order! I especially loved the muffins, and the hard rolls were exactly how I remember a great New England hard roll should be: perfectly crusty on the outside and soft on the inside.

One of the staff members suggested I try the Blueberry Coffee, and I'm so glad I took the recommendation. It was absolutely delicious and the perfect complement to breakfast.

What really made each visit special was the attentive, friendly service. Everyone was welcoming, happy to answer questions, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making sure customers had a great experience.

Harpo's Bakery turned a nostalgic visit back to South Glastonbury into one of the highlights of my trip home. It's the kind of neighborhood bakery every town wishes it had, and I already know it will be my first stop the next time I'm back in Glastonbury.”

“Great ice-cream and friendly staff. I was here for their free cone day to benefit MS. There was a very long line but some of the staff was outside offering samples so it was kind of fun. Everyone was in a good mood and chatting. Staff passed out lists of flavor offerings so people could get in and out quickly. The line did move steadily. There was also a fabulous face painter there for the kids and a musician performing outside. We'll done!”

“Nice place, very quiet on a Friday night. The food was good just a bit salty. Their fried rice is not the best. I think they did the fried rice the way they did to mix it up with the sauce from the vegetables. I had better fried rice somewhere else. The shrimp had the tail which wasn’t bad, but would’ve loved to have it without it. Overall, not a last minute place to eat if you can’t decide what to eat.”
