I ordered a Margarita Pizza tonight from Sassano. I had’t been there for a long time and was surprised there is a new owner since last October. He’s very pleasant and enjoys being in South Glastonbury. Got home, we ate the pizza and WOW, it was delicious! A perfect thin crust covered with mozzarella, tomatoes, olives and mushrooms. As good as it gets! I called to let him know how much we enjoyed it. I’ll be back for more! And I hope he does very well here.
I was surprised when we got there, looks like a super typical town-y pizza place tucked in a somewhat dingy plaza. The inside is bright, clean, and not at all what I expected. The service was friendly and very fast. There was a steady stream of patrons but staff kept up well, all seemed to be having a good time. The meatballs in vodka sauce were delicious. Fettuccini Carbonara was flavorful and well balanced. I personally would have had more sauce, but I will just request that...
First time under new owners. Ordered the Chicken Pesto pizza with mushrooms. Have to say it was very tasty. It was done ontime when I picked up.the box was heavier than I recall from first owners...just an observation. When I got home and opened the box, the pie was a little folded over as it was slightly larger than the box. To me, I've ever have seen this. So, it's a plus, but not an expectation. I felt the price was worth it. Nice job.
