Should be 1 star but giving 2 stars for nostalgic reasons as this place has declined in recent years. The positive: love the coffee and the re-opened dining area in the back is a great place to relax (although has a ghost town feeling). Food options are ok/good but not as plentiful in the past. But G&H has declined particularly on service. A few times, the bagels have been stale. Today, they were in a bag (in the display case) and the VERY young girl behind the counter (who seemed clueless) had some fresh ones that hadn’t been put out. I only got a fresh one after asking.

When I got my coffee, the lid wasn’t on well and it spilled on me when I drank it. I brought it to the attention of the VERY clueless young girl and she laughed saying they know about the problem. WELL WHY ARE YOU LETTING THAT HAPPEN???? At least warn people so they don’t have to run home to change clothes as I had to do - or even better, replace them!

Counter service has also been very slow and today, the salads weren’t labeled so I couldn’t see what they were. Come on guys - I’m rooting for this place to return to its glory days! I was a regular who is now an occasional (at best) - please make me a loyal customer once again!

I got the gangster sandwich which was good not great. It was a 5 inch sandwich for 16$ which I think is a little crazy. They charged me $1 to swap a dressing out of the sandwich also. Okay place to go for lunch but nothing spectacular

Highkey kind of bad. Soup was yucky. The chicken managed to be dry even while submerged in broth and the vegetables were uncooked

Very sad that one of my favorite long time, local gourmet prepared food places has gone down hill so badly the past couple of years. I'd been a loyal, frequent customer for over 10 years, gave them a LOT of weekly business, including a few large catering dinners & parties. Unfortunately it is no longer a great place to grab a salad, sandwich, or after work take-out dinner if you're too tired to cook. First they down sized and no longer had a nice, spacious room to eat in, then they couldn't hold onto their wonderful people, who frankly made the place so great because they really knew how to give great customer service. I used to know all the people there, especially Rose, who was the best! I looked forward to seeing her smiling face and friendly conversation, she always went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy. Once she left, the new people were NOT NICE! And the turn over rate was ridiculous, new people every 1-2 months. Then they cut the hours so drastically I can never make it there before they close because I work full time. I rushed to get there once about 10 minutes before closing, 4:50pm, and the door was already locked and the guy behind the counter saw me knocking on the door and refused to let me in and another person in who also wanted to give them business, I was honestly astounded. It also now takes a really long time to be helped, especially during peak lunch hours, forget making a salad or sandwich, or even getting a few things behind the counter, if you're pressed for time. Hoping they can turn things around and bring it back to the great place it used to be.

Been coming for a couple years and always great but lately lunch has been a train wreck and not the same atmosphere. Charlotte is a saving grace. It flows better when she is there and the days she has been gone it has had a different atmosphere. We miss her terribly. On a better note they have excellent catering and a fabulous sandwich menu! This place is a Greenwich gem. The gentlemen in the kitchen out do themselves when it comes to breakfast. A must try before or after lunch hours.

This place has really gone downhill. Half the shelves are empty. It’s quiet as a tomb. They don’t have enough staff to both serve food and run the register so they run back and forth. What items they do have on offer don’t look fresh. Yikes.

Food is good, but why offer online delivery if you need to cancel every time?

Delicious gluten free baked goods, wraps are made to order, and many coffee flavors make this a go-to favorite.

I cannot take any food establishment seriously that is using margarine as an ingredient in anything in 2024 when we know everything that we know about these fake byproducts. What next, Crisco? Olestra? Aspartame? Based on the communities you are located in, it's shocking to me that that demographic doesn't care more about what's in the food. To each her own, I guess.
