On a bitter cold night the fireplace beckoned. All the tables were filled. Service was helpful and efficient. Dinner was very good..,turkey chili and a salad wiere fresh and well seasoned. Comfortable,

First time at The Ginger Man and came here because was recommended to try if in Greenwich. It was worth trying as they pour a perfect pint of Guinness 👌🏽 and to complement the pint was an order of Fish and Chips which was the best I had in a while, crispy crust and flaky fish with fresh cut fries including amazing tartar sauce. My partner is gluten free and a few options to choose from like one of the burgers without buns and ultimately chose Steak Frites with Truffle Parmesan, it was cooked well and paired well the fresh cut fries.
We will be back next time for sure

Excellent location, great large space. Everything about this place could be so right if it wasn’t for the staff, and the quality of some of the items. The staff is ill informed, not very personable, and dress slovenly. There’s no uniformity, I was asked if I wanted to drink by somebody in a bleached stained sweatshirt behind the bar , who I thought was a delivery person or repair man.

I was then told where the bathroom was by a bus person in stained shorts and a T-shirt …..in the middle of December.

As well, they don’t use high-quality mixers such as fever tree ginger beer, they use the cheapest of the cheap. Aside from that the drinks are made inconsistently and un creatively

The food is acceptable, and the atmosphere alone would make the place a regular go to …..if the service was improved and they could make a good drink.

Terrible Service from INCREDIBLY rude bartenders. My friends and I (all 21 year olds) went out for New Years Eve, and when waiting in line at the bar, the bartender comes up to us, looks at my shortest friend (who’s still only about 5’7”) and says VERBATIM “who’s that little guy, he’s not 21” he then looked at my friends REAL ID, claimed it was fake, and continued to kick us all out while also putting hands on my friend. Please do not spend your money here, it is overpriced bad food in the first place.

I love this place! I go a few times a year and make it a point to go between Christmas and New Years with my husband. We always ask to be near the fireplace and so far we have gotten to be there every time (3 years). It has become a lovely tradition and this year was no exception. Great ambience and service and the food is delish.

Stew was very salty and portion was a half the size expected. Fish was undercooked. Our order was missing mashed potatos. Brussel sprouts were good but majority of the food was inedible.

Nice welcome, table ready. We all enjoyed our orders and would recommend: Poke Bowl, Pear Salad. Chicken Wrap. Pleasant server. Pretty noisy but it was a very busy lunchtime.

Our first time eating there. Loved it! Will be making it a regular spot for both family dinners and date night. Very cozy, and my espresso martinis and short rib were both delicious.

Dec 2025 Update:
Stopped in for dinner after many years. The vibe is warm & inviting, good crowd at the bar after work gatherings.

Esme was my server, charming & a delightful personality. I ordered the Braised Boneless Short Ribs for dinner along with a Paulaner HefeWeizen to enjoy with dinner.

After a few minutes 🍺 was delivered, the bottle was nice & cold, the glass provided was literally warm. It took a few minutes to get Esme’s attention. I requested a chilled glass, she was not sure if they have chilled glasses, turned out they are all warm, or room temp. I decided to pour my ice water into the beer glass to chill it down, 30 seconds later my beer was in an ice cold glass.

My entree arrived a few minutes later, beautifully plated, the anticipation was palpable. So I started tasting risotto with Black-Cherry Braise Reduction so delicious, I quickly started on the short rib, which were moist tender & bursting with flavor. So satisfying, I pulled a baby 🥕 to cut for a bite, the carrot was not very tender, almost like a carrot stick crunchy. Seems that needed a few more minutes to reach full tenderness.

Overall a delicious meal, they seated a table nearby with about 20 so they are clearly on peoples short list.

Wonderful experience, albeit time for the front door to be closed so the entire place did not have a cold breeze each time someone came in or out.
Cheers 🍻

Great spot to meet friends for drinks & dinner. Wide ranging menu with lots of comfort food. Terrific beer 🍺 selection for your curiosity and enjoyment!

Always a comfortable and cozy spot! Love the fireplace in the back and food is delicious. I had the pork chop, which was great.
