Today is my Dad's Birthday! Our Birthdays are a week apart. It was our thing to go out to Breakfast together to celebrate. This was my 4th year without him & I couldn't decide where to go. I ended up at Charlene's with a counter seat!! My Dad was an advocate for Vets! I had the best experience, the food is amazing! The service was impeccable! It made my morning & to top it off, A US Marine, Korean War Vet, came in with what I assumed was his son. I wasn't alone at breakfast today!! If you haven't yet, go eat at Charlene's! It's not just another Diner!

When I was a kid, The Wizard of Oz was on TV once a year. It was a national holiday to me. When I watched it, I loved it so much I didn't want it to end. The entire experience of having my breakfast at Charlene's is like The Wizard of Oz.

I came here on a Friday morning around 11:15 am. I was by myself and I sat at the bar with my book. The coffee lady at the bar was super nice and quickly got me settled with a hot tea. My waitress was very young and seemed like she would rather be anywhere else, but I ordered some eggs benedict. 45 minutes I waited for my food. The place was only half full, so I have no idea what took so long. The food was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable, but service is extremely slow. Keep that in mind if you're looking for a quick breakfast stop.

Ordered a spinach, cheese, and mushroom omelet. The spinach was frozen, chopped spinach. The mushrooms had a vinegar bite to them ate 2 bites and took it home to see if my dogs would eat it. Think they would have asked how it was. The coffee and service were excellent!!
