Dean's Corner in Jewett City, CT, deserves four stars for being a staple in the area. With a few breakfast shops in town, this one always seems to be the "least" busy which surprises me (they do fill up, but there isn't nearly the wait here like the other 2 places). The servers make you feel like a "regular" almost immediately. The few funky dishes that stray from the "normal breakfast" are all well worth trying. Dean's is the first choice for my family and me. First time visiting. The food was good. The service was good. The atmosphere is very "local" which is nice. My only complaint are the hidden charges. I did not notice on the menu or any signs that stated these additional fees- I don't think there are any notifications. They charge an "inflation fee" of about 3% AND another fee if you pay with a credit card. Of course you don't find out until after you have eaten and get the bill.
