My cousin almost lost his apartment because he found out when he woke up that he was out of a job out of nowhere because surrels got SHUT DOWN because of how nasty the kitchen is! They failed inspection big time and weren't even allowed to stay open while fixing things.

Been in this area for 2 years now, this has been my go/to for awhile but these past few months have been very disappointing in terms of service. The younger girl is fantastic when she’s on the phones this place gets a 4-5 stars from me. But when she isn’t you could sit there and call this place 45 times, all day long; not a soul would pick up the phone.I’d say you have a 1 in 2 shot on the weekend they’ll pick up the phone for any sort of delivery or pick up. If they don’t pick up the first time, go somewhere else… cause odds are they won’t pick up any of the rest.

Like the food, but I'm giving up on trying to get delivery from here. Last four attempts they either don't pick up the phone, or stopped taking orders almost two hours before closing.On the few times I did manage to order, the delivery person was fast and nice.

Pizza was ok, wasn’t even cut tho had to cut every piece myself, burger “medium rare” looks like a frozen sausage patty and isn’t even cooked, school lunches do better… and how is the bun soggy but has burnt marks but no condiments… Frys disgusting. Soggier then the bun.. I would highly recommend anything NOT in Jewett city…

They cannot take constructive criticism, order a grinder with no cheese call to make them aware of the mistake and they accuse you of screaming at them and the owner hangs up, I live 2 towns away so no I didn’t want you to drive 1 grinder out maybe take the complaint for next time. I order often because typically it is correct but after this incredibly rude completely uncalled for service never again. Please if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions do not ever order from this restaurant. THEY WILL KILL YOU FOR LACK OF HEARING AND VERIFYING YOUR ORDER IS RIGHT!

Fridays Surrell's has seafood chowder, the best I've ever eaten! It was my first time there, but it will not be the last! The food is outstanding! Don't let the outside fool you! It's a nice atmosphere to hangout, pool tables and a bar. The owners and servers extremely friendly!
I have a culinary arts degree and have been in the food industry 7 years. I've been here 3 times and have definitely made up my mind. The short girl with the dark hair has been rude on two occasions. We've ordered barbecue, taco, and pepperoni pizza. Their "large" pizzas are on the smaller side and their pizza in general is more expensive. The barbecue pizza had long black hair baked into it, and the sauce was super thick and gross. Like corn starch was added to it. The chips on the taco pizza were stale and disgusting, and the lettuce on it was wilted. And the sauce on the pepperoni pizza was super sweet, like they add sugar to it or something (probably because the sauce is super old like everything else and they need to mask the taste) And the crust is very airy. Not filling and messing up a pepperoni pizza is pretty impressive. Needless to say I'm shocked these guys are still in business with green onion up the road, and over 15 local pizza joints right in Norwich.

Not impressed with this place. I ordered a large bacon pizza and the girl charged me over $20 for it, when I questioned the price she said no that's the price. Being in a rush I paid it, after talking to other people I realized that I was way overcharged. When I contacted the owner he said because I didn't have my receipt (who keeps those) there was nothing he could do about it. Decided to try them again a few months later for delivery. We ordered over the phone and paid. When the driver arrived which took over an hour part of our order was missing and our pizza was burnt. I told him about the missing items and he said to call the restaurant, so I called and they refused to credit me for the things missing nor would they send another person out to deliver it. Will not try again after all of this!

The service, food, and experience we received was nothing short of stellar. Burt made sure we were completely taken care of, with no stone left unturned. The food was stellar, and everyone left full and happy. If you are looking for the same, we cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Surrell's!!
