I love it the food was good and it has a good bar and staff. Only one problem in the men's bathroom there's something with weird letters on the mirror.

I used to love coming here, but the food has drastically changed in terms of quality. I went tonight with my boyfriend, and I don’t think I’ll be back. I ordered the open face steak sandwich and it was literally a thin piece of dog food grade steak on a piece of garlic bread with onions and mushrooms thrown on top. I took one bite and didn’t bother with the rest. Our server never refilled our water glass and didn’t bother to ask how the food was, and honestly I didn’t have the energy to get into it, so we paid and left. I heard the table next to us didn’t like their food either. Maybe the kitchen staff is new. But, I’ve noticed for a while the overall quality of the meats you choose, aren’t good and prices are expensive. Super disappointing. I used to love coming here as a kid, but we won’t be back.

I used to love this place, the food was great and they have a nice bar. But I went there tonight and there was no soap in either dispenser in the bathroom and no paper towels. This is something that takes five minutes for someone to check and fill, theres no excuse for it. It's absolutely disgusting and I'm never going back. They lost a repeat customer because someone was to useless to fill a soap dispenser, how pathetic.

Get the surf and turf or the fish tacos. Even the Buffalo macaroni and cheese are out of this world. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant. Customer service has always been amazing.

Honestly I’d say zero stars if I could. We walked in we’re sat by the hostess and proceeded to wait 20 minutes without a soul coming to us. 2 tables sat and order drinks and food while we waited. After 20 minutes one of the waiters asked if we had been seen and after we said no said he would go figure it out. Waited almost 10 more minutes and no one came so we left. Informed the hostess on our way out and we were met with a sarcastic sorry and an offer for popcorn as an apology which is ironic because we would have gotten popcorn anyway had a waiter actually come over. The combination of being flat out ignored for over 25 minutes and a sarcastic attitude of an apology is surprising given the sole purpose of the employees in that establishment is to get food to the table and customers in and out quickly and satisfied. I was a weekly customer at Groton 99 key word being was. And I know this review won’t matter given the attitude of the employees. Also for reference I drove to norwich 99 and the waiter came over in 30 seconds with popcorn to take our drink order

My med rare steak came out so well done I could have played hockey with it. My cheddar broccoli SOUP was so thick it was definitely the scrapping from the bottom of the pan that sat in a steam table all day. My drink had ZERO tequila in it at all.Worst of all I could hear the waitress talking to the MANAGER about it, sadly she was to busy sitting in the bar area to come talk to me. I paid 45$ for a kids meal. Bc that's the only thing that was eaten or drank at the table. I understand we came in an hour before closing but regardless of 10 hours or 10 min before closing every customer deserves to be leaving satisfied.

I called this place on Wednesday asking if they still had .50 wings on Thursdays, the girl that answered said “yes ma’am, it’s all day”. My husband, daughter and i were so excited and drive to Groton from new London on Thursday Starving and ready for wings only to be told .50 wings are at the bar only. That’s ridiculous and I’m beyond mad that i wasn’t told that when i called. Won’t be going back here. ????

99 is always a safe choice when going out. The menu is a good size and prices are reasonable. While visiting Groton a few weeks ago we decided to stop in. The service was great and our food came out nice and hot. There wasn't a long wait and overall our experience was a good one. I'd recommend as a good chain restaurant if you are looking for American style food and quick service.

Get take out for the hubby. His smothered tips are generally always good. DON'T order kids Mac and cheese. It came to us looking like someone threw it in and out of the microwave. What a waste. Doesn't even seem cooked. Will NOT be ordering here anymore.

A few days ago I was served by a woman named Tammy, who seems like she’s the manager at this establishment. I do have to say, she is quite rude. I saw her blatantly disrespecting her associates and as a customer at this restaurant it is hard to enjoy a meal while she is being nasty to others in front of guests. I can only imagine how nasty she is to them when there isn’t people in front of them. Not only was she rude to her associates, I asked for assistance to find the restroom and she rudely told me where it was. I was once a loyal 99 customer, however that is no longer a statement I can say.
