we were looking forward to trying this brewery but when we arrived at 1:30pm, it was closed although it stated it opened 12pm on Saturdays. No note on the door. Will hopefully come back up to CT to visit again as the place looked really cute.
Nellie is the best!
Beer’d Brewing Co. – The Silo: A Hidden Gem Worth Finding
Beer’d was our second favorite stop on our Niantic-to-Mystic beer crawl—and easily one of the better surprises of the weekend. Tucked away in the back of an industrial park near the Groton-New London Airport, The Silo feels like a place you’d only find if someone tipped you off… or if you followed the unmistakable scent of hops and good decisions.
We tried two beers during our visit: Organized Playdate, a lime- and pineapple-forward Double IPA with a subtle zestiness, and 8 Days a Week, a clean, easy-drinking American Pale Ale. Both were solid pours—bright, flavorful, and balanced. The kicker? They were on special for just $4 each, which made them taste even better. No complaints.
The vibe inside The Silo is sleek and modern without being cold. Think clean lines, minimal décor, and just enough polish to feel stylish while still being comfortable. Despite the industrial setting outside, the taproom has a warm and welcoming feel—a cozy, intimate space that makes it easy to settle in for a round (or two).
Service hit the sweet spot: friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. Just what you want when you’re tasting your way through unfamiliar brews.
Bottom line: Beer’d gets it right. The beers are creative without trying too hard, the space is chill without being boring, and the prices made it feel like a find. If you're in the area, it's worth the slight detour off the beaten path.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner Beer’d and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The owner, Precious, was very attentive to our needs - letting us personalize to our hearts content, helping with service, and assisting us throughout the entire process. Not to mention the great beer! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great space to host a function
Beers were great and diverse. The staff was very knowledgeable and fun. I will definitely be coming back.
Had a great experience visiting the silo. Not only was the beer amazing but so was our server. He was very knowledgeable and great about answering all of our questions whether they were about the beer or random questions about the brewery itself.
Kirsten was the best! Super helpful, very fast service. Love this place! Can't wait to come back
We had an outstanding experience at Beer’d for our Wedding Welcome Event! From start to finish, the venue and Precious exceeded our expectations and played a significant role in making the weekend a memorable success. She coordinated with the food truck that we hired and saved me so much time following up with them taking it off of my hands. She went above and beyond in designing a wedding logo for us to put on glasses that she had made for our event that we ended up ordering extras of as wedding favors. She even got us coasters made with our logo!! All of our guests loved this special detail from our wedding weekend. We are still getting photos from friends when they use them.
The space itself is so unique and perfectly suited our needs. The layout was versatile, allowing for both the larger group and smaller gatherings throughout the inside of the brewery and the patio. Between Precious & Nick, Beer’d was incredibly accommodating and attentive, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. We dropped off a few things ahead of time and got delayed at the hotel, Precious took care of setting up our entire event! They are professional, friendly, and always ready to assist. Their seamless coordination and support made the planning process smooth and stress-free. They went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly on the day of.
The combination of awesome beer, excellent service, the welcoming setting, and a well-organized team made our welcome event a huge success. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to host our Wedding Welcome Event. Thank you Beer’d Brewing at the Silos for your outstanding service and for helping to create such a wonderful experience! Can’t wait to visit soon!! Highly suggest hosting your event here!

Kids are not welcomed. I visited when here on vacation and was not allowed to stay and get a beer because I had my daughter with me. This is something they have no reason to not include and should make sure family customers are aware that only people that are 21+ can visit.

Highly recommend! Great experience! What a difference it is not allowing children in a brewery. We were able to enjoy our adult beverages without listening to kids scream and run around. Always thought breweries should not allow kids and this experience confirms it. The beer is very good! We tried cold as weisse with raspberry, heavy weight of sound, pedazo de sol and 8 days a week. We also got a cheese plate from Mystic Cheese which is right next door. It went great with our beers. We will definitely be back to relax and have a drink. Thank you to Beer’d Silo for providing a place for the child free to go out, relax and have a beer.
Nice experience lots of fun
We’ve been to the Stonington location before and enjoy the beer. We enjoyed our time however docked one star because service is incredibly slow. It was pretty busy and only one person behind the counter. Seemed there was another staff working but really not working. She kept drinking and not assisting with customers ?♀️
Nick was awesome! Ultimately the whole vibe of the place is just perfect in my opinion - great beer, great decor, super clean bathrooms and water pressure, not too loud, and great hospitality.
Small brewery with a nice, industrial-chic atmosphere. Every time I have gone, they've had at least one or two ciders, so far always local and always good. Needing a gluten free option allows me to enjoy a brewery with friends without feeling left out. The Mystic Cheese Company is right next door and will put together a charcuterie board to enjoy with your chips and beverage, which the nice staff at Beer'd encourage! Parking is easy and sitting outside isn't too bad since it's at the end of a dead-end street, so there's no traffic. Definitely worth a try and a great way to support a local business.
