Gold Star is an institution in Groton. The food is fun Friday night cheat food. The people who work here are amazing and somehow keep smiles on their faces even when they are SLAMMED. And they are slammed often.

Took my order, told me the amount but failed to say there was a credit card fee, asked for refund and they said it was too late, order was in, very rude. Grinder was skimpy and tasteless. Although I was pressed for time I should have driven to Pizza Palace.

We aren't from around here and needed a quick bite. We ordered a pizza and it took about 30 minutes, and honestly it was the best pizza I've ever had! It was a little awkward standing there waiting for it while one of the women cooking loudly complained about a customers order but it happens.

The amount of ingredients on our pizzas was absolutely amazing! (I only remembered to take a picture at the end of our meal, so only our beef and mushroom pizza is shown) Service was decent considering they were busy with many carry out orders, too. It’s well worth the price. We will definitely eat there again!

First time eating here. Ordered 2 Large meatball grinders. One with extra sauce. Got home and they were the Worst grinders we ever had. Couldn’t even finish eating them!!! It was all soggy because they cut it in half and put it in styrofoam, instead of wrapping it in parchment paper. They only put a small piece of parchment in the bottom of the styrofoam. The grinder was so soggy, it fell apart when I picked it up to eat it, and the cheese stuck to the paper. They also put the extra sauce on the wrong grinder!! We requested that the grinders be toasted, and they burned the breads!! The grinders were very small. If they call those a LARGE grinder, I wonder what a small grinder looks like!!???? Needless to say, they just lost our business!! $40.00 down the drain!!! Gold Star pizza SUCKS!!!!

worst pizza place i have ever gone to. simple order 2 large meatball grinders. 1 w/ extra mozzarella toasted. the other toasted w/ grilled peppers and onions. not sure why they take your order if they don't read it and make it properly. the pepper and onion 1 was almost no sauce and the one that should have normal sauce was overloaded . spent 40$ dollars for trash. I heard the employees talking and I believe they new of the mistake. I cannot believe that they would serve it knowing it was wrong. would be happier waiting another 15 minutes for exactly what we ordered i will never be back. and advise you all to look at the food before you leave. BUYERS BEWARE.
