Food was okay, not spectacular. Cocktails mediocre. Service was terrible. Our waitress barely smiled, menus were left in the middle of our table the entire meal rather than being taken away once we ordered. There is no bread service. Cocktails came in the middle of our entree and we were left with water to drink during our appetizer course. I asked if they could make a spicy margarita with jalapeño infused tequila and was told yes. I received a mediocre margarita with no spice at all...certainly zero jalapeño in it. They waitress never asked us if we wanted a dessert. We will not be back. Very disappointed.

I frequent Groton Marriot often and Yuleka’ has been my bartender/ waitress many times , she is amazing and always makes sure everything is on point !! From the cocktails to dinner and dessert. She goes above and beyond!!! Not too mention it makes my time at the marriot top notch!!! Food is always fabulous and the truffle aioli is to die for!!!

I always have a great experience here. However, during my last time there my bartender, Yuleika, made the visit very memorable. Great service and lively conversation. I will always stop in when in my hometown, hopefully Yuleika will be on duty.

Decor and music like 1990s Catskills hotel. Noisy. Fish and chips: Sent it back as the deep fried oil was burned and ruined the dish. Cocktail sauce I asked for never arrived. Waited a long time, then got a shrimp pesto pasta that tasted like wallpaper paste. The chef should be ashamed. The bartender was kind and awesome and deserves a better employer.
I stop in here on Fridays or Saturdays on my way home from work.Always a friendly conversation is to be had sitting at the bar making new friends.Yuleika was my bartender one of the nights that I attended.I was greeted with a smile that made me feel very welcomed.Whenever I try out different restaurants I always order an old fashion with my meal.Yuleika makes on of the best old fashions that I have ever had and the food was amazing.I always go for the clam chowder.I will definitely be going back to this restaurant when I am in the area and if you are in the mood for an amazing drink with great food and awsome conversations with lots of laughs ask for yuleika.
We ate 2 nights this last weekend at the Helmsman and we had Tia for our server. Her friendly fun attitude was second to none. The food was good as well but it was really Tia we came back the second night for!

I frequently visit the Helmsman Kitchen & Bar and I have always enjoyed there food, and atmosphere. Yuleika our Bartender was amazing as usual , her energy is always very upbeat and on point and the service is impeccable . Definitely a must visit when you’re in the Mystic / Groton area .
