I’m not one to go to Italian restaurants because my expectations are elevated and I’m usually disappointed, but this one is truly my first chef’s kiss! 👨🍳💋
If you go, be prepared… it’s a little pricy, but I’ve no issues with paying for an exemplary meal.
-Veronica makes both red & white sangrias and they are the BEST in SE Ct!!

Excellent food and great service Will return
We went for dinner on New Year’s and we had a amazing time and dinner . The food was absolutely delicious with every course . The owner and all her staff was so hospitable and friendly. Will def be returning soon.

Osteria D’Ambra is an authentic Italian restaurant in Groton run by a talented couple. The menu features authentic Italian cuisine, with every single plate made fresh by one chef. Dishes like octopus salad, spaghetti carbonara, chicken marsala, penne boscaiola, penne & meatballs, chicken parm, chicken cutlet vodka, and pasta alla Norma are all described as excellent, delicious, fresh, clean-tasting, and full of flavor. Portions are generous. The tiramisu is phenomenal and homemade, while other desserts like carrot cake, cannoli, and handmade cookies are also very good. The crema al pistacchio is a notable after-dinner liquor.
The service is extremely friendly, kind, and attentive, contributing to a feeling of being in a home. The environment is very nice, sometimes with a live DJ playing calming music. Both the red and white sangrias are noted as the best. While the experience is worth it, be prepared that it is a little pricey and you may wait a bit for your food, as it is made by one chef. Overall, it is an awesome experience, a great find, and is highly recommended.
