Welcoming atmosphere, nice menu with small and big portions. Water view. And really nice pasta. I got the breaded chicken on top of fettuccine Alfredo. I’d love to come again. Alexa was a nice waitress. Breaded chicken over fettuccine and eggplant over spaghetti.
01.04.25 Can Paul's Pasta Shop Deliver a 2nd Amazing Review from Big Al & Tiana?!😎 Yes!! 👍🏾👍🏾 On December 19, 2024 I did a 'Big Al's Reel Review' of Paul's Pasta and they earned two 👍🏾👍🏾. I returned again today with my new sidekick Princess T aka my Daughter Tiana!! I decided to review the Paul's Chicken Diablo because so many customers suggested that I order it on my next visit. So I did and gave Paul's Chicken Diablo a Big Thumbs 👍🏾 because it was perfect! I love that Honey Dijon Mustard taste, the amazingly fresh and Delicious pasta with two Juicy Chicken breast on top! Paul's Pasta has quickly made it one of my top 10 Favorite places to dine in the region and this review is another example as to why! Solid place to eat on the Thames river in Groton. Great views & good eats. I had the linguine with clams & extra garlic. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

Fresh pasta!! You can watch him make the pasta in the front window. We went at a very busy time, Saturday night. We got a table right away. Tables are close inside, and it was noisy. Might have been better if we sat outside on the back deck. Took a little bit for our server to come over. She was attentive and helpful. The food was excellent and you could tell it was fresh. They offered small and large sizes on the dinners, which was a nice alternative to getting too much food or wasting food. We would definitely go again, but at a slower time. We had Ravioli, lasagna, chicken parm, ragu.
Parking: You can park behind the restaurant and walk up to the street to get to the front door. They probably have about 20 spots behind the restaurant. You can also park on the street.

This is a really amazing place. Fresh pasta, excellent food, a cool patio overlooking the bay, reasonable prices. What’s not to like?

All I can say is...wow! Upscale food quality with a laid back vibe. I had the daily special, Cajun shrimp fettuccini alfredo with red peppers and side of garlic bread. I was blown away by the alfredo sauce, using the bread to get every last bit. I also had the frozen peanut butter pie for dessert, but for best results let it sit for about 5 minutes before digging in. There is an outdoor seating area overlooking the Thames River and New London, with a view of the sunset. The staff was all super friendly and helpful in giving recommendations. I am normally a red sauce guy, but glad I went with the recommendation! I have passed this place several times over the years while in the area for work, and am glad I finally stopped in. It will be a staple of all future trips for me!
Vegetarian options: Lots of pasta options without meat
Parking: There's a small parking lot behind the building that holds maybe 8 to 10 cars. You can also park on the street.
Kid-friendliness: What kid doesn't love pasta!

Food is good, prices were reasonable. Liked that they had small and large price points for the same dishes. Soft drinks come in a can and are not refillable. Iced tea MAY be refillable.
