Food was 10/10. Service crew was friendly and absolutely lovely to interact with. The waterfront view was so nice but somehow prices so reasonable. I highly recommend going! I'll be back again and again

By far the best food around. The environment is so friendly and loving. I love looking out to the river. Everything is homemade - bread, salad dressings, pasta sauces… Everything was made correctly and was delicious!

Let me start by saying that the entire idea that this is a "special needs training facility", is a fantastic idea and something I would donate to locally. However, I'm 58 and this is without a doubt, the worst meal I've ever had. The concept of a training facility for special needs is completely lost if the food is horrible. I went the Tues Dec 12th at approximately 10am. No other customers inside. We were greeted and sat immediately. As we were being handed our menus another person asked us to take our order. We politely said we haven't looked at our menus yet, please give us a moment. This went on for quite some time. We excused it as it was no big deal. When we did order, it had to be by the numbers only, and I get it. However any variation was an issue. When I reached for the menu to show him what I was talking about, he stepped back and said, NO, Listen to me! It was just a bit challenging. Again, I was fine as I understand. The wait for the food was 35 minutes and I was offered refills on my coffee etc. Also, the views are spectacular, so the wait was ok. I ordered bacon, eggs, toast, and home fries. Also a side of 2 French toast. My wife ordered a breakfast wrap. The food arrived and I ate a home fry first. That was it. I thought I was going to be sick. I can honestly say it did not resemble or taste like a home fry. It was horrible and my stomach began to turn. I ended up forcing down the toast, bacon, some of the eggs and half the French toast. Eggs were fine, toast was fantastic. French toast not so good. My wife took 1 bite and was done. She could not eat it and was disgusted. The potatoes were in her wrap as well, and it was drenched in something making it completely soggy. Now, here's the problem. Humans are kind and compassionate for the most part. So they usually won't criticize due to the very nature of this facility. So, what are you going to do in this situation? My wife asked for a to-go box which is exactly what I mean. Someone there has to read this review, maybe pay attention to what food is being left behind or at the very least sample what you are serving. I'm my case, if the cook would have tried it, he/she would have never served it! The majority of the population want to see a program like this be successful! It will never be when the product is bad. It's worth noting only 1 other party sat down just as we were leaving. The bill was 29.41 plus a tip which I believe goes to a donation. Come on guys, read this and fix the situation. I want your program to work. But you can't expect people to be polite and go eat in support of this when the food was just awful. There were no patrons in there until we left and it was still during breakfast hours. Please, look into this.

Wonderful, friendly place. I had the breakfast wrap one day and the egg sandwich the next. Both were great. We sat on the deck overlooking the river. Very nice.

Bestie and I just did lunch. Extremely pleasant experience. Setting is peaceful and comfortable. Nautical theme setting on point, not over done. River view. Emasculate. Service was outstanding, profession without being stuffy. Very attentive without being pushy. Prices are surprisingly affordable. Off street parking, and ramped. Handicapped accessible. NOW, the food! Everything was beautifully presented. She have the French toast. Fluffy, flavorful cinnamon just highlighted the comfort food vibe. They do their own baking. I had on of the specials. Chicken ranch wrap. Perfect wrap bread. fresh chicken breast, not deli slices. Fresh veggies, lettuce, tomato, pepper, and a wonderful dressing. Everything played well together. Home style potato salad. Their own, I'm sure. Definitely going to be repeat customers I think that about covers everything

Had a lunch date here with my besties and it was a beautiful view of the Thames River since we sat outside. For anyone who doesn't know, this restaurant employs individuals with special needs. The staff were incredibly friendly, prompt, and so happy to serve. The restaurant is very clean. There is plenty of parking available as well.I ordered the fish and chips and was expecting a small portion of cod for the cost. When it came out I was taken aback by how much I actually received. Perfectly cooked and I could only get through half of the larger piece (see picture) and ended up taking the rest home for a second meal.I plan on coming again to try breakfast!

First thing first.. A must go to Restaurant Experience !!!Second if you need to start your day right and have an experience that reminds you of all that is good in the world, then this place is the place to start your day, week, month. It's more than a meal it feeds the soul and refills your joy.Third food is perfectly made and prepared. Served with enthusiasm and your every need is cared for by the most attentive staff I have ever experienced. We came with 2 children under 2 years old. We were accommodated and had all we needed. The cranberry walnut bread toast is a must order. Made in house. We ended up buying a loaf to take home.Fourth, the atmosphere and location is the best. Ample parking. If you're having a rough day and need a boost. If you simply want to enjoy a good meal in an amazing atmosphere, then find a new dining experience at Puffin's.Kid-friendliness: They accommodated and everyone commented on the kids and showed interest. We felt beyond welcomed. .

I found this restaurant on Google Maps. I only gave it four stars for the same reason it deserves 10. It’s mostly staffed by people who are challenged - I hope you get my drift - I can’t think of the proper word. The wait person was good but a little “rigid”, IOW he didn’t know “Healthy Options” (versus hash browns) but he was fast and efficient. My omelette was good. There were three tables outside on the deck, on the Thames River in Groton. Most of all,!I liked helping people who needed it AND supporting their institution.GO!!!!

Eggs Benedict had hollandaise sauce that tasted like Nail polish remover. The atmosphere was reminiscent of an old folks home. Wallpaper, boats, the giant plastic cups. I'm

While the optimistic foundation-premis-backstory on this eatery is Wonderful- my personal dining experience here actually gives me bad dreams. Whilst choosing a seat at a table having a stellar view of the Thames River, it was by happenstance located close to the kitchen. Which rang out visions of a torture chamber. Grunting, moaning, crying and what might have been slamming chairs along with scraping, dragging on the floor of the same. When my food arrived, good thing I'd already lost my appetite. As you can see by my pictures there was barely 2 bites of the Americas thinnest ham laying under the poached Benedict. The underlying English muffin was cold and dry. The eggs which looked like perfection on a plate were grossly over cooked, warm, but chalky, and very small. The accompanying potatoes reheated to the point of no return to edibility. Hard gravely looking much more appealing than they should have as I nearly broke a tooth trying not to discard it in my napkin. Service was attentive, and paying was a pleasure-(quick n easy) only because I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I've had in the past, experience at the Ladd School and worked at Dempsey Regional Center, with patience and tolerance... I believe in the project and process. But, I would-COULD- never recommend this restaurant. Unless of course you'd care to embrace the background noises of torture and mayhem in the scullery or need a little help with overindulging your dietary intake for the day. Me? I'd rather buy some Hollandais and just make my own or spread my encouragement and dollars elsewhere. This is my first poor review. And honestly, I find no pleasure in sharing it- but, like you, I depend upon the honesty of my fellow Yelpers for true and honest advice. So, yeah, I AM going to share my experience, here....reluctantly.

I'm gonna be completely honest. I picked this place without batting an eye and I'm so happy I did. It's a restaurant run almost entirely by special needs individuals and everything EVERYTHING is made from scratch in the restaurant. It means food takes a little longer but oh lawd was it worth it. The whole restaurant has a very open layout and is a really friendly space. The food was amazing. I'm from Jersey and I'm here on a weekend vacation and ordered the south western burger. Not only was it fresh, it was massive and the sliced tomato was thick and sweet and juicy. Honestly I would come back everyday for brunch. As a neurodivergent individual I felt pretty comfortable which is hard for me in public.Parking: Right up against the water beautiful honestly.
