I stopped into The Spot Café today to try the new menu and I was seriously impressed. The Pear and Gorgonzola was a great start, the Fritters were super crispy, and the Carbonara tasted like real home cooking. The Mexican Street Corn Flatbread had a ton of flavor and the Salmon was cooked perfectly. I also tried the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the French Onion Burger—both were loaded with flavor. The Tuna Wonton Tacos were fresh and crunchy and ended up being one of my favorites.
You can tell they put a lot of love into this new menu—everything tasted like it was made from scratch. I’ll definitely be back!

My husband went to eat on his lunch break here and ordered a chicken sandwich. Needless to say the chicken could’ve walked out of there gobbling. He took a couple bites and the middle was completely raw. When he commented about it towards the waitress all she had to say was “that’s nasty”. They did not take the sandwich off his bill and he left feeling utterly disgusted. Will not be going here again.

The friendly staff is sadly outdone by rude customers and sub par food. My pasta with meatballs was overcooked with watered down sauce. And the rudest customer was there who watched my family and I leave as our daughter (who is 7 months old and doesn't have words to speak) and clapped because she screamed a few times. My advice? Fix the food, dont allow rude customers.

Quaint place. Excellent food and portions. They have cider on tap which is a huge plus. The only complaint is the lobster bisque had very little meat in it.
Lots of great options on the menu but not too many!
Seasonal specials all looked great!
Had an issue with my daughter's chicken wings going to the wrong table, it was immediately and quickly fixed and the food was delicious.
On the patio with rain coming the staff did a wonderful job adapting to the changing weather and getting multiple tables of guests moved inside.
Another solid visit, I'll definitely be back!

I just went to The Spot for the first time in a long time. Our experience was hands down awful. It took over 20 minutes to even be offered a drink. When we finally ordered, not only were our appetizers forgotten because our server was in the back having a fight with management (in full view of where we were sitting), but then the person I was with got something completely different than what they ordered, and we had to wait some more. When we ate the food, the macaroni and cheese was really....I could have made better from the box at home. My sandwich was on a stale roll. We waited almost an hour 30 minutes and left vowing never EVER to return to this horrible experience. Our server didn't even get us our check, I had to ask another server from a different section. I love Groton, but this was the worst eating experience I've ever had there. 😡
