Restaurant was beautiful, the bar was large, and the vibe was great! The services was excellent!
The calamari appetizer was just ok at best, there was more lettuce and peppers in the dish than calamari which consisted of mostly broken up in tiny pieces. Prob bottom of the bag. I wouldn’t recommend.
The lobster grilled cheese had great flavor but unfortunately it was made on the smallest slices of bread I’ve ever seen in a restaurant which was disappointing.
The ceasar side salad was delicious (minus a few brown pieces of lettuce) & the dressing was very good. The hickory bbq burger was average but would prefer ketsup next time, the Parmesan tater tots were excellent! Overall I would say the food was average.

Still thinking to try this place out …..
with all the bad reviews I read I was wondering do they have the right cooks that have experience in kitchen restaurants? The right chef’s for the job ?
Yea maybe I’ll give it a try. 🤞🤞

It's just to busy and not enough staff. You wait to get seated and wait even longer for food. It's been open for a few months also so they shouldve worked this out already. Food was good though but it's a 2 hour experience.

Finally a Wood n Tap near me. Called to reserve a table, guy on phone said I had to go online but had no idea where. I said Open table? He had no clue but did apoligize. Cant do it on Open table but I did look on there website and was able to do it there. Came and it was very busy on a Tues and im so glad I made a reservation. Because we had a reservation we were seated right away. No wait at all. We ordered beef nachos to start and they were good. Then we ordered steaks, spinach/ artichoke flatbread, wings and a burger. I got the flatbread and it tasted just like the dip on bread but it was a tad burnt but I liked it. The steaks were on the smaller sidd and a little overcooked than Medium like requested but I didnt hear any complaints. The wings must of been good because my son didnt want to share which led to some table conflict but my daughter was able to steal one. Lol. The service was slow but expected with this much busyness but she got us everything we needed and she was pleasant. I did look for accessibility for a wheelchair and was able to find some tables in the back and some half booth/half tables that would work. The tables also look accessible being wide legged. Was happy to see that. So many restaurants miss the mark on that one. When I sat down the waitress moved my walker so it wouldn't be in the way. Was a nice evening, busy, tad loud but happy chatter. Id go again. You can go online and see what everydish looks like and you can also sign up for their rewards. So I signed up for a 5 dollar off, showed the code to the waitress and she never used it. Wasnt going to complain over 5 bucks with the busyness. Ill use it next time.

I would be nice to see prices online without having to use the TO GO menu. I haven't been here and want to try it.

My girlfriend Karina and I had an amazing time at Wood-n-Tap in Groton. We sat at the bar and were lucky to have Jason as our bartender and server—he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home.

We started with an appetizer and then went all in with two entrees, each coming with two sides, so we got to try four different sides total. Every bite was flavorful and fresh. The food came out hot and perfectly timed, and Jason made sure our drinks stayed full and we were happy the entire time.

The vibe at the bar was fun and relaxed—great for date night or just grabbing a solid meal. Highly recommend this location, and big shoutout again to Jason for the excellent service!

Our server was very nice but clearly overwhelmed. It seems that the severs do not have a set section but are spread out which could be contributing to the longer wait times for service. Similar to other reviewers, we had to ask two different people (neither of which were our server) as to where our drinks were. When the drinks arrived, they had clearly been siting for quite some time and were mostly water as the ice had melted. Though the fresh drinks weren’t much better. Food is also rather disappointing. For the prices you would think the food would be fresh and tasty. Spinach and artichoke dip was 90% cheese that was glooped together and the chips had a burnt taste. The parmesan tater tots had no flavor and were definitely the same as you would find in the frozen section of the local grocery store. The dip sandwich came out soggy and only deteriorated worse once the au jus was added. The roast beef had inedible gristle pieces and some of the onion peel was still attached and put in the sandwich. You can imagine the surprise of biting into what should be a squishy sandwich! Tables are also not cleared of excess plates and drinks; we ran out of room and had to start stacking our own dirty dishes and cups in the corner of the table just to make space. Overall, a very sad first experience. We’ve all been waiting for something to fill the void of 99 but this just isn’t it.
