Beer is great! Several different options.
Great chances at fun like trivia, bingo, comedians, etc.
However, the music they play is always horrific and loud. Can’t even hold a conversation when around the table. Doesn’t matter the day or event, the taste in music makes me not want to come back! Have asked to change but it never happens, and when ask to lower it lasts for a few minutes but goes back up.
Food is great! Love the people that prepare the food!
I will still go here but honestly want to bring head phones to tune out the murder music.

I'm only leaving a review because this guy, John, who works here is really cool. He gave me a free beer once, idk why it meant so much to me, but I see it as a testament to the friendliness of the staff. This place is great for birthdays, family gatherings or impromptu meetups...as a bartender myself, strongly recommended if your are in the area

I've loved counter weight since they were in Hamden. This place is a must go to if you love visiting the best breweries in CT. They also have great food on site from Ritual Pizza which has gluten free options kike pizza, burgers and a separate fryer for fries!!!! Can't wait to come back this summer for their outdoor space.

Very good beer. Music coming through speakers was annoying. Great food truck tonight with Philly cheese steaks

Wide variety, never a miss. IPAs to Pilsners and everything in-between. Highly recommend.

Amazing beers, but I wish they would make more double ipa hazies and maybe some triples. The one thing that went downhill when they moved is experimentation. They don't experiment nearly as much as they did in Hamden. Also the main floor needs some activities, there's not much to do. The upstairs has some games but it's always rented out. Can you guys get a pool table or something?

Great place to grab a brew and food. Spacious with plenty of parking. Close to highway but in a quiet area. Clean. Indoor and outdoor seating! Atmosphere is inviting!! Go!!!

This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I met Counter Weight numerous times during beer festivals, but never understood their appeal to the public. It was until I visited the brewery.

First things first, the brewery occupies a big building and has an enormous space. The first floor is sectioned into 3 rooms, allowing for some privacy should you plan any events. There's also a patio, where the majority during our visit were the dog owners, and a 21+ game zone with some field games. They also have space on the second floor, but I did not go there. The brewery partnered with Ritual Pizza as their kitchen. We ordered a pizza and chicken tenders, and everything was delicious. The whole place was packed on Saturday evening.

Now, for the beers. This brewery specializes in 2 directions: traditional European beers and IPAs. As I'm not a big fan of IPAs, I was focused on the European styles during my visit. You cannot order beer flights here, but they can provide a short pour (10oz) of any beer with a limit of one short pour at a time. I tried many of Counter Weight beers before, but still their lineup was almost completely new to me, so my guess is that the beers are rotated often. I was able to try 5 beers during my visit. My absolute favorite was Grodziskie - a traditional 3.5% smoked wheat beer, which is incredibly hard to find in CT. But in general, I loved everything I had - Vienna Lager was rich in taste, Ein Helles was a direct hit in the style, and so on.

I'm pretty impressed by the quality of the beers produced here. If you're a fan of European beers, this should be a stop on your journey.

Was there for a personal event. Can't comment on prices as all inclusive. Great variety of brews. Food was far far better than most. Staff was great. Space was large and clean and well set up. Would recommend.

The Street Korn pizza is out of control. Ridiculous. Mad, even.

You HAVE to try it. 12/10 chef's kissies.

So, I have to be honest I don’t drink. So I can’t really speak on the beer. I came here specifically because of the gluten free pizza.

I’ve tried so many different gluten free pizzas all around the state. My wife is GF. I belong to a Facebook group that recommends different spots throughout the state.

I had heard this was the spot.

Ordered two pies, wife got a cider and I got a soda.

Let me tell you, this is hands down the best gluten free pizza I’ve had the pleasure of eating. It was so good that I had to personally thank the team that was making the pizzas.

I’m going to highly recommend this place solely on the GF pies. I can’t express it enough how difficult it’s been to find one as good as this.

Great job to the team busting out these pies on a Friday night!
