Not sure what happened, when Donburiya opened the ramen and the food was excellent, even the sushi they briefly offered was very good.

But I think either management or owner changed - we haven't seen the guy that used to be there anymore and Quality and Service have both gone down hill.

our ramen orders have been missing ingredients, portion sizes have been cut and overall it just is not as good.

Wonder what happened.

Stopped in for lunch and everything was delicious. The Bibimbap beef was amazing they made it spicy just how I like it. The bulgogi rice bowl was also really tasty, and the ramen was great too.

If you’re in Hamden and looking for good Japanese and Korean-style food, definitely swing by Donburiya Cafe and grab a bite. Highly recommend!

I have to minus a bit and I don't like to. But the quantity of food is not the same. Katsu Salmon used to be multiple pieces. Todays order was one piece with same price.

Just tried this place out for the first time, and I must say the food and owner were great! The Ddeokbokki was the perfect texture, and the Korean wings and crab Rangoons were awesome in flavor and texture as well! My absolute favorite was the Japanese curry though!. The sauce was amazing, and the crunch on the chicken cutlet was perfect! Over all great experience and I will be back!

Highly recommend! Everyone here is so friendly and ready to help with the menu if needed. I had the spicy miso ramen and it was the best ramen I’ve ever had. 10/10!!! If you’re in the area, this is a must try!

We love their food that makes us come back for more. We've been here 4 times already! We love the ambiance, especially the staff.

Service was great, food was mediocre. Tonkotsu ramen had overcooked mushy noodles, and the broth while flavorful lacked lip smacking collagen goodness, or any meaningful toppings, just a couple of bamboo shoots. Nothing wrong with the place, but nothing right either.

We stopped by for lunch. The food was very good. My kids (5 and 7) got the cheese kimbap and ramen to share. They loved it. We also ordered the bibimbap and that was great. Overall the food and service were great.

Food was great! We ordered a lot of things and everything came out assembled nicely and tasting great! The servers and employees were nice. The prices here for ramen and/or curry are quite high though, $16-$20 for a bowl.
