The staff is so sweet, the atmosphere is sophisticated for an AYCE, and the food is simply divine! I really prefer the airy and light peaceful interior here compared to other dingy and dark AYCE places. There’s nothing better than peacefully sipping hot green tea during lunchtime. Something small would be replacing the black window blinds with some nice light curtains. But high quality fresh sushi and sashimi should be the main focus

If you go to this restaurant make sure you bring your own tupperware in case you want to take food that you couldn't finish because they wanted to charge me $5 for it. We've been here a couple of times and they've never charged us a single dollar for a to go container that costs ($15 for a hundred). The food is good but we definitely won't be coming back here. If they're going to charge something, at least let it be a fair price.

First of all, if you want sashimi raw fish then this isn’t the place for you. This is not because the fish isn’t fresh. It is that they limit you to 10 pieces of sashimi per person per visit. Sure, you can order the sushi with rice but expect razor thin slice with out of proportion rice beneath it. If you want to enjoy raw fish then look somewhere else. Their sushi rolls are made up of some strange taste fish paste. That paste is on everything they have on the menu. Oh, don’t you dare to waste any foods on the table because they will charge you extra. The robot server is cute and fun. The atmosphere is also nice for an AYCE.

What a great all-you-can-eat experience! The ambiance was great, and the robot server is a fun novelty that I would come back to experience again. All of the sushi was tasty, and I appreciated how many non-sushi items they had on the menu too. I also haven’t seen a restaurant have a dessert sushi roll! It was tasty and unique. Such a great addition to Hamden!

My husband & I love Japanese food. We do takeout alot because we work so late. Genki's food is awesome. The ginger & yumyum sauce are great. We don't eat sushi, but it's on the menu. Great vegetrain choices. Also has an all you can eat menu. The PRICES are very reasonable- very. The staff has been great with accommodating my husband's picky nature when ordering food. If you want good tasting food at low prices check this place out. It's in the Hamden Plaza w/ Walmart, but on side where Men's Warehouse is.

I thought the food was great! The staff were super attentive and helpful. The sushi were amazing and so were the appetizers. Also totally worth it for the price of about $30 per person. I hope nothing changes as they continue to run.

“Wow! This sushi experience was absolutely incredible! Every roll on the plate was crafted with such attention to detail and bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. From creamy avocado and tender fish to the perfect balance of crunch and drizzle, each bite was pure bliss. The presentation alone was stunning, like a work of art on the plate! Not only was the sushi top-notch, but the atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the waitresses were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back for more! Highly recommend this gem to any sushi lover. Thank you for an unforgettable meal – I’ll definitely be back, and maybe I’ll be lucky enough to enjoy a little extra sushi love on my next visit! ?”

Went during lunch time AYCE & am giving this three stars as the appetizers were ok and the ambience was beautiful. However, I was very disappointed by the lack of flavor from the sushi’s. we ordered five different rolls (desert, sunshine, firecracker & can’t remember the other two) and it was astonishing to see that the dessert roll had more flavor than all the other ones we ate, but not by much. It also took about 30 minutes for the rolls to come out. Im not sure if the sushi is supposed to be bland… if that is expected then they did a good job. But I would much rather go to Sushi Palace (IMO) beautiful place though & appetizers specifically the fried rice was excellent.
I would still recommend for others to try to form their own opinion.

AMAZING food. The sushi is really good but the hot food? OUTSTANDING. Try the pork katsu and buns if nothing else. Everything was super fresh. Watched a cute cat robot bring another table soup(we didn't try any soup but it looked great). The humans working were amazing!! And you CANNOT beat the prices. It's so great to be able to try so many things I've been putting off because I wouldn't know if I would like it! Also, DEFINITELY try the desert roll. The flavors and textures pair together SO well even my friend who doesn't like bananas fell in love with it. Going here every time I make my way out to Hamden.

I don't think I can really find one bad thing about this place. Food was amazing, service was great, seating could maybe be a bit more comfortable (wooden benches). I've tried most AYCE places in CT and this one blows the others out of the water. The fish tastes very fresh and the kitchen food could very well be a separate restaurant's menu with how great tasting it's items are. Typically at other AYCE sushi places the kitchen menu items are very subpar with the focus being the sushi but Genki's kitchen food was a great surprise and wish I could have tried more.
My dad who is very particular with his sushi agreed that this quality is almost never found in an AYCE sushi place and compared it to his favorite sushi place that is not an AYCE.
One thing I wish they did add to their menu which I have only found at a few places is peppered salmon sashimi that comes in a dish of ponzu sauce but other than that this place is perfect!

My boyfriend and I were so excited to try this new all you can eat sushi in Hamden. The ambience was great and sushi tasted great. However... both me and my boyfriend got sick within 6 hours of eating here. I would have loved to recommend this restaurant but unfortunately I cannot.
