Went in for the first time hesitant but I’m so glad I did. Sushi was so fresh and delicious. So many options to choose from and the price is justified by the quality. There’s so many all you can easy buffets in CT by this one is by far the best I’ve experienced. Service was great, the staff were so friendly. The place is beautiful and well decorated. The place was packed busy but service was fast and efficient. No complaints at all

I am absolutely outraged by my experience at Genki Restaurant. After dining at the buffet and leaving a generous 30% cash tip with the tip section on the check clearly crossed out I later discovered an additional tip charge on my card. This is not a mistake; it reflects a serious breach of trust and unethical billing practices.

The atmosphere was equally unsettling, with management hovering over guests in a way that felt invasive and predatory. To make matters worse, I now have serious doubts about the freshness and quality of the food served.

Do not trust this establishment. What happened is unacceptable and appears intentional. I will be filing a formal complaint with the FCPB and local law enforcement to ensure this type of conduct is investigated and addressed.

Warning to future guests: after paying with a card and tipping in cash, an extra tip amount was added to my card. I’m now disputing the charge and replacing my card as a precaution. Please double-check your receipts and statements.

We ordered the all-you-can-eat buffet, and every dish was delicious and beautifully prepared. The robot server added a fun, modern touch it maneuvered with such care, which I found impressive and charming. I’ll definitely be back for more.

“The lunch at this restaurant was very bad. The taste was awful and not delicious. It’s not authentic Japanese cuisine at all. The service was terrible too.”

The staff is so sweet, the atmosphere is sophisticated for an AYCE, and the food is simply divine! I really prefer the airy and light peaceful interior here compared to other dingy and dark AYCE places. There’s nothing better than peacefully sipping hot green tea during lunchtime. Something small would be replacing the black window blinds with some nice light curtains. But high quality fresh sushi and sashimi should be the main focus

If you go to this restaurant make sure you bring your own tupperware in case you want to take food that you couldn't finish because they wanted to charge me $5 for it. We've been here a couple of times and they've never charged us a single dollar for a to go container that costs ($15 for a hundred). The food is good but we definitely won't be coming back here. If they're going to charge something, at least let it be a fair price.

First of all, if you want sashimi raw fish then this isn’t the place for you. This is not because the fish isn’t fresh. It is that they limit you to 10 pieces of sashimi per person per visit. Sure, you can order the sushi with rice but expect razor thin slice with out of proportion rice beneath it. If you want to enjoy raw fish then look somewhere else. Their sushi rolls are made up of some strange taste fish paste. That paste is on everything they have on the menu. Oh, don’t you dare to waste any foods on the table because they will charge you extra. The robot server is cute and fun. The atmosphere is also nice for an AYCE.

What a great all-you-can-eat experience! The ambiance was great, and the robot server is a fun novelty that I would come back to experience again. All of the sushi was tasty, and I appreciated how many non-sushi items they had on the menu too. I also haven’t seen a restaurant have a dessert sushi roll! It was tasty and unique. Such a great addition to Hamden!

My husband & I love Japanese food. We do takeout alot because we work so late. Genki's food is awesome. The ginger & yumyum sauce are great. We don't eat sushi, but it's on the menu. Great vegetrain choices. Also has an all you can eat menu. The PRICES are very reasonable- very. The staff has been great with accommodating my husband's picky nature when ordering food. If you want good tasting food at low prices check this place out. It's in the Hamden Plaza w/ Walmart, but on side where Men's Warehouse is.
