Been meaning to try this gem for a while - finally made it today. It is literally a hole in the wall. Located off Dixwell between Alltown and Home Depot.
Plenty of street parking.
There is a walk up window but it was closed. You walk in and place your order. Takes a few minutes to prepare. The menu is online as well.
We tried the beef, chicken chipotle, chicken jalapeño, pork, guava. We shared them so we could try a bunch of different ones.
Next time, we will get our own! :) Crust is flaky and not greasy at all. The filling is flavorful and tastes fresh.
The guava is outstanding- one of the best I have had. Chipotle chicken was our favorite of the savory ones. The jalapeño has a slight spicy kick but it’s just right. The jalapeño is flavored throughout the filling so you aren’t biting into a chunk of jalapeño. Very nicely done.
They take cards. Service is courteous and prompt. Not fancy at all but definitely worth a stop.
They take large catering orders so will make a great addition to an office party. We will surely get some for our next celebration.
There are daily specials as well. Today’s was curry chicken and rice for $12.

Really decent spot! The name of the place is spot on. Several different empanadas were ready to go. I was in a rush, so it was pretty perfect for me. In and out in less than 5 minutes. The empanadas themselves were solid. Not the best I've had in CT, but loved the different selection to choose from. I would come back.

The empanadas were disgusting. The chicken ones tasted inedible and the filling looked like grinded up cat food. The flan looked and tasted old, it was curdled.

OH MY GOD!!! I don't know how many hundreds - thousands of times I must have passed by this hidden gem without any knowledge of it's existence! Nothing like a tucked away nook with great food.
Was craving empanadas and found 'Grab and Go' through a near me Google search. . . and I am so happy I did! Super fresh hot delicious food and the staff was so pleasant! I am on my way right now because I want to try more things! The prices and portions are amazing and they have a nice variety.
?*Truth: the empanadas were so good that my wife and son finished them off when I stepped away for five minutes! Going back right now

Parking: Slightly limited parking on the street in front of the store, but unlimited parking in the lot across the street.

This is Empanada heaven, this little Shack makes the best empanadas in the region, I'm puertorican, and they make them just like we do if not better, and they are South american and Indian.
Little place. The empanadas were hit or miss - the shrimp ones were inedible, but the beef chipotle were pretty damn good. The ratio of filling to empanada is a little lean.

The food here is awesome. When you're ready for a snack or a sandwich, do you have to go here and whatever you want to order? Order two of it because you're going to eat one when you get in the car and you won't have anything when you get out of the car. I learned that the hard way. So if I want one empanada I order four and the pineal sandwiches are delicious must have
