** edit I posted nothing on this review. However, I'd like to mention I’m still craving those empanadas. The food was that good. Perfect flavor, perfectly cooked, and just an all-around great spot. Definitely one of those places that sticks with you. I can’t wait to come back.

Just went here for the first time, had such a good meal I had to rate right away. The shrimp empanadas was excellent and the spinach and cheese and chicken chipotle were both very good. I didn't love the rice pudding, but the resturant isn't called grab and go rice pudding. The empanadas were crispy and the filling delicious. Plan to go many more times.

Stopped in for lunch and man was a satisfied. The empanadas were amazing I got 3 different flavors to start they were the beef and cheese , beef chipotle and the chicken, the rating was 10/10 I also ordered some fries which were also good perfect crisp and tasty . The empanadas were so good I went in and bought 2 more .

It’s killer good food, really it is. And the dude making the food is cool too which is cool too, so yeah it’s a place to go for sure, not many like it…eat up!
First time trying the food. Literally right off Dixwell. We tried the empanadas both beef and the other was shrimp. Although both were good the shrimp were tastier. Nice size for the price. They offer other dishes as well. Small inside. They have some areas outside to sit and eat.

As we sat out front we can see rats 🐀 running back and forth from this establishment to the trash on the side of the building. Also, the shrimp empanada had three shrimp and the rest was filled with some type of paste. They should also be more transparent, open that counter up and allow the customer to view what’s going on behind that small opening the customers are being served from. Get the rodent issue under control. I don’t even see any traps in or around the area. I just don’t see the place passing a health inspection. Good luck!

Been meaning to try this gem for a while - finally made it today. It is literally a hole in the wall. Located off Dixwell between Alltown and Home Depot.
Plenty of street parking.
There is a walk up window but it was closed. You walk in and place your order. Takes a few minutes to prepare. The menu is online as well.
We tried the beef, chicken chipotle, chicken jalapeño, pork, guava. We shared them so we could try a bunch of different ones.
Next time, we will get our own! :) Crust is flaky and not greasy at all. The filling is flavorful and tastes fresh.
The guava is outstanding- one of the best I have had. Chipotle chicken was our favorite of the savory ones. The jalapeño has a slight spicy kick but it’s just right. The jalapeño is flavored throughout the filling so you aren’t biting into a chunk of jalapeño. Very nicely done.
They take cards. Service is courteous and prompt. Not fancy at all but definitely worth a stop.
They take large catering orders so will make a great addition to an office party. We will surely get some for our next celebration.
There are daily specials as well. Today’s was curry chicken and rice for $12.
