Ixtapa Grille Family Mexican Restaurant

I've been coming here for a very long time and my family and I always enjoy the food and service but today was and will be my last day ever coming here. I was a party of 4 and when I ask the young women who was I believe the hostess to bring me my check it comes up too $187 and some change , mind you that includes the 20% AUTOMATIC Gratuity I could understand the 15% but 20% on a party of 4 is insane almost 30 dollars of tip . When I asked the hostess why do you guys put automatic tip she says all orders over 100 is automatically 20% gratuity that's INSANE ! I can assure you I'll never be coming again to this place .

I loved the Seafood Tower and hubby enjoyed his Fajita Nochos. Dessert was big enough for two. Our server was Awesome! Loved our experience!!! All new tables inside really looked good. They are celebrating their 22 years anniversary serving good food and very well proportioned. Thank you Ixtapa for a great Sunday afternoon. And thanks for more than enough leftover to take home for dinner tonight. Four meals.. Yeah!

We always love this place and usually get food to-go. The enchiladas are so good! They have online ordering available so you can also place the order before heading to pick it up. Packaging is thorough and clean, food is fresh, staff is super nice... All around a good experience.

Cheap margs, good service, food was delicious! I love this place. I swear our food came out within 5 minutes of ordering it, it was delicious and hot.

I can’t say enough good things about Ixtapa. It is, by far, my fav Mexican restaurant in CT! The staff, super friendly. The food, incredible. The atmosphere, fun and enjoyable. I always look forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

We had been to Ixtapa before and found the food and service amazing!! So when we recently had a summer party we reached out to have them cater. We worked with Griselda, she was phenomenal! She arrive early, had 8 trays step up in minutes, gave us a full run down on how long to keep the burners running so the the food would be ready for our guest and wouldn't burn. We got so many compliments on how good the food was!! Best of all we have many delicious leftovers!

I brought my parents here for dinner. The service was okay—our server was friendly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. The rice tasted old and reheated, and the salsa with the chips seemed like it came from a jar with some cilantro added to make it taste fresher.

My mother ordered the fish tacos and asked for a different sauce because the original one was too spicy. Unfortunately, they only had one other option, and that sauce wasn’t good either. The fish was dry and tasteless.

Overall, we were disappointed with the food, and despite the ok service, I will not be returning.

First time visit, came in with wife for quick lunch - serve same traditional Spanish rice and refried beans I grew up on in OKC. Friendly service, classic Mexican menu.
