Placed an order, arrived 30 minutes after to pickup to find out the order was not put in the system. They made me wait 51 minutes additional minutes for it to be ready.

I've ordered takeout from here a few times. The katsu bento box and all the raw fish I've tried were good. My orders have all been ready on time, and the prices are fair.

worst place. came in a couple of weeks ago with a friend and they told us that the menu they gave us didn’t have accurate pricing only AFTER we got the bill. they refused to give us the correct price even when we ordered based off what the price was on the menu THEY gave us. Came in today for a pick up order since they never added avocado to my meal that i asked them to. The girl at the front was so rude and says in the nastiest tone “no you didn’t”. Any offer of re ordering with avocado was never said she was looking over at her co workers making a nasty face while i stood right there. This is unacceptable the food is sub par anyway so really don’t waste ur time there are plenty other good sushi restaurants in the area to go to instead.
Good food, fresh sushi, good service. The dining room could use updates. We went for an early dinner,by 6pm the place was packed!!

I was very very dissatisfied with this specific Kumo location during me and my partners short time being there. We were sat (2 people) for a hibachi dinner and not only did no one come over to us for the 25+ minutes we were there, but we were not asked if we wanted any water to drink or food at all! after waiting for 25 minutes we decided to get up and leave. There was 4 other people at the same table for hibachi that were seated after us and even they were greeted and asked how many people it would be. I do want to preface by saying NO ONE came over to us AT ALL!! We drove to Kumo in New Haven and are already having a better experience here. I would not recommend going to the hamden location and i will never be back.

If there was a way to give zero stars I would. My wife and I came in for dinner, upon being seated we waited 15 minutes and not a soul asked if we wanted something to drink or service. Another 15 minutes when and another family walked in and was seated with us. Another 15 minutes goes by. Not only did we not receive service but the party who walked in were still waiting on other members. After being seated for almost an hour my wife and I left. Really disappointed I wanted to like this place being close to home, but with the lousy service it was a letdown

My partner and I always have such a pleasant experience with kumo, whether it’s dine in or take out! Service is speedy, staff is kind, and the food is always delicious. Our go to spot for sushi night :)

Went here Friday night to celebrate a work promotion. Read all the great reviews on the place and got excited for a scorpion bowl and some octopus. I wish I could tell you I got to taste them and enjoy myself. But after the 4 of us were seated in a 1/2 empty restaurant at 7:03pm, we were all but ignored for an excessive amount of time. Never offered water or anything. Never asked us for our drink order or apps. Once 7:25 a bus boy cleaned a nearby table and I asked if he could make sure a server gets to us. To which he responded yes. As we watched as 2 or 3 sets of people who came in after us got helped out, and drinks successfully brought to them and orders taken, I asked the hostess when we would be helped. She said she would have someone there immediately. After waiting until almost 7:40 pm. My party and I decided to walk out.... What a disappointment. Went to Sakura Garden instead. Food wasn't the best but everything was done in a fast and timely manner and decent enough. Can't express enough how disappointed I was with the service here.

I saw the reviews and we were on the way to restaurant and just called them to ask how much time it might take on average to prepare the food since we are very hungry and the person who answered the call is very rude. She is like we are not a fast food centre or McDonald's to prepare food for you immediately, it might take 2 hrs to prepare the food... She even asked me " do you know the difference between fast food and a dine in restaurant". Very very bad customer service. I don't know why they even hire these kind of people who are rude to customers.
Love the hibachi dinner combo - comes with soup and salad, with fried rice. Also, the fried shumai is delicious.

I had an order of rock shrimp and fried rice delivered to me . The rock shrimp was soggy and bland and had a bunch of lettuce under them that took up most of the container. The rice was also bland. Would not recommend this place.
