I’m all for supporting black businesses and i love food. This seafood place gave us old Spoiled seafood. It was a shrimp and fish platter with fries; I ate two shrimp and it was old and the fish was too; no seasoning on the fish and the fries was greasy and tasted like fish smh; I just threw the whole thing away a waste of my hard earned $20. Y’all have to do better and come correct.
On May 25th 2021 my girlfriend Louise purchased a shrimp scallop combo with her cashapp card it was great, on June 1st a dinner was purchase there using her cashapp card leaving no other explanation other than an employee copying the card information and using it to make a personal purchase we call the police and remade a report which is being investigated, l called the store today to speak with a supervisor or manager and was told no one was available and l couldn't have their number
My mom has been raving about this place for over month, she especially likes the shrimps, as so do I. Today, I got a chance to have a taste for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed my encounter with this fine establishment from the moment I entered their very nice establishment- that had such a nice ambience , excellent warm courteous professional service - to my very last bite. Truly , look forward to patronizing them some more in the future. They have several other locations already in CT and I truly pray that are able to expand perhaps beyond CT even, the sky’s the limit. This is truly one black-owned business that is super easy to support. ???
While visiting my parents we decided to get seafood from a new restaurant that opened In Bpt called Still Off The Hook. I called in our order for pick up and at the end of the call I confirmed the address for the Bpt location. There was immediate silence on the other end of the call, the young lady then stated I am so glad you asked about the address your actually calling the New Haven location. my reaction ugh, our mouths were ready for some seafood. Standing next to the yo
Delish spot. Locally owned and operated, best fried seafood. Customer service was great - tables are distanced/spaced for health and safety. Both the servers and owner checked on our table and, food to fast, fresh, and hot. Good luck on the reopening!
I drove 45 minutes only to have my order mixed up. Other than that the food was good. I'm a Jimmies girl so I'm not sure if I will be back. I called to speak with the Owner, Paul Hill and the lady who took my order (didn't get her name, she was wearing a grey headwrap) questioned why I didn't look at my receipt. Well, I didn't, however I know what I ordered and I wouldn't order something I don’t eat. Will I go back, Let's put it this way, I won't be making a special trip there. Good customer service goes a long way.
I went for the first time for a late lunch. I had the shrimp and clam strips. It came with fries and garlic bread. It was was good and I will definitely go back.
Food is very good. Fried lobster tails & lobster egg rolls are next level but breading falls apart from fish out shrimp.. still delicious
This is the first time I have submitted a google review in my life, but this meal and experience was so noteworthy and deserving of praise, I felt obligated to share my experience. I am a native of New Haven and have spent a lifetime eating fried seafood all over the nation. With that background in mind, Still off The Hook is by far the BEST fried seafood I have ever encountered in my life. I don’t make that claim lightly! From the mouthwatering seasoning, breading and sauces to the creative menu items, concept and friendly and prompt service, this establishment exceeded all possible expectations, checked off every box, and raised the bar as notably superior to any fried seafood I’ve ever had!. As I mentioned, the staff was friendly, prompt and professional. The owner, who was clearly very busy, still took the time to repeatedly check in on me and have a conversation. He was friendly and you could immediately see how passionate he was about his product and brand integrity. As far as I’m concerned, “off the hook” is an understatement. This place is a go to spot and should become a staple of the city for fried seafood. I know the owner has big plans and other locations are in the mix, so I’m excited to see to see it all over the map!
Thank You for delivering my food. It was delicious as always. Fresh and melts in your mouth. I always order the fillet and shrimp with fries. Fries wasn’t soggy or nothing. I appreciate it. I will always be a customer. Great Work!!!??????
Restaurantji Recommends
I had the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My food took an hour to come out, and when I requested to speak to a manager the owner came over and refused to apologize and told me I should be more patient. I will never step foot in this restaurant ever again, I highly recommend that anyone and everyone stays away.
Customer service is great, friendly staff and the lobster egg rolls are AMAZING must try!
The fish sandwiches are amazing
I hardly ever write reviews, but as relatively new business I think it’s important to know that the customer service in your restaurant is extremely poor. Apparently the restaurant phones were not working and the lady at the counter was very irritable due to this, she addressed me as though I was bothering her. I asked if she had shrimp and coleslaw she said she don’t have coleslaw and don’t even know why it’s on the menu. I waited 30 min for a fish sandwich which was subpar in terms of taste and presentation. She blamed the wait time on the fact that the restaurant just open, there was another displeased couple there who complained that they where waiting for 45min. I hope this feedback helps. Good luck!
Excellent service and fabulous food. We enjoyed the meal and appreciated not having to cook on Christmas day.
