Typical hibachi restaurant, nothing very special. Decor is very out dated. Flavor for the steak was good but fried rice lacked. I heard they have another restaurant with better reviews, may try that one

We were visiting from out of state and had the best experience! Our server was great and the food was incredible and very generous portions. The best hibachi I’ve ever had

Nice staff. Good food. However I didn't like the stove still has some leftover food stuck in the corners.

The service attitude of this waiter is very bad. The dishes ordered are not fresh, the sushi is smelly, and the food was served after a long wait. I told the waiter and his attitude was very bad. I will never come again.

It’s taken me 10 years to talk my husband into giving this restaurant a try. Its location (at the end of a strip mall anchored by Hamden’s supermarket for poor people) made him suspicious. And when you’re eating raw fish, you want to be confident in the quality of your food. Despite the somewhat shady location, it’s a totally different experience once you step inside.

There’s a little pond with fish and turtles in it, some fake glowing cherry blossom trees (fun fact: that’s what “Sakura” means in Japanese), and a circle-shaped bar that all contribute to much better ambiance than you would expect in the price rite plaza. I’m only giving it four stars for ambiance though because a) my husband was weirded out by the fake fish on the wall in the bar area that he had to look at during the whole meal and b) the hibachi section is noisy and full of kids crying, people screaming, etc. If they could isolate the hibachi section a little better, it would be a more pleasant dining experience for everyone else.

Everything we ate was outstanding (including the “outstanding roll” - my husband’s favorite). Service was absolutely perfect - better than I’ve had in fancier restaurants. For example, we ordered a bunch of stuff including a couple soups. He asked if we want the soup first or everything as it’s ready. I really appreciate that. Too many times at other places they’ll give us our entrees before our starters arrive. I find that so annoying and it ruins the meal.

Anyhow, excellent food, perfect service, and surprisingly nice vibe inside (if you can ignore the loud hibachi people and fake fish mounted on walls).

Server only once came to our table to drop off our initial drinks. Never came back again. We ordered hibachi and never got our soup our our salad either. Also noticed s forced 10% tip, I always leave 20% (and we did regardless of the poor service). Just thought it was a little shady.

I had the fried rice and salmon and it was on point. Had a mango margarita and strawberry margarita and I must say Linnea made that strawberry margarita down to the T. It was spectacular.

I come here once a week with my roommates. Every time we come it is ALWAYS a great time! However, tonight was QUITE literally the WORST experience i have ever had in my life. to start, it took 10 minutes for our server to come over! my roommate can’t have tequila and specifically ordered a mango drink without tequila and they brought her a mango margarita??? and then our food came out BEFORE our soup and salad, AND IT WAS WRONG??? im literally so annoyed. it ruined my girls night out. everything was messed up and 8 minutes after our food came out - asked if we wanted a box. Our server also hardly came up to us. I bartended and served for many years, its basic stuff being messed up. awful experience

edit
they never add gratuity when i come in groups of 5 when we sit in a booth (not hibachi), today: they added gratuity. convient???? what a joke

Went there with my beautiful wife it was early 430 so no wait. We were the only ones at the grill...I don't know if dude was a rookie or just distracted by my beautiful wifey.. chang over cooked every thang...shrimp like rubber...lobster hard af...fillet over well done when asked medium rare...and I've never seen scallops sliced in halves until that day....like wtf was that? And he used way too much sauce..now I'm being a karen but he did the vegetables last when it was supposed to be first...but I'm a spic so they wouldn't think much of me...it was ehhh don't over cook what I paid premium $ for...this is a passive aggressive review. for all of us who tend to be passive. F that we pay good money so let's not be shy if any establishment brings us anything less than what we pay for.
