So I'm not sure if the name is still Uncle Jimmy's or if it's 173 Surf & Turf (from the website I found when I googled Uncle Jimmy's) but this place is good! It's a very unassuming place but my husband and I rode by while touring different neighborhoods. We're still new to CT. I bookmarked this place on Yelp and said we should try it when we get a taste for fried seafood, guilty pleasure. Well the day came and we ordered online. The food was ready within 20 mins! It was well seasoned (compared to what we have gotten along the shoreline where we live), fresh and tasty! Yummy! The price was decent as well. We will definitely be back. I'm shocked this place only has 2 reviews on Yelp. Could possibly be due to the different names. I don't know. Regardless, it's yummy! We both shared the King's platter (I think that's what it is called). You get fish, shrimp, scallops, fries and onion rings. It was more than enough for both of us. Hopefully more people review this place. Wish I took pics while I was inside but the online ordering prices are the same. Try it! It's a good place!

How far from the sun keep the food was amazing and the chef didn't mind spicing things up a bit!

I've been searching for a fish spot in the area for a LONG time, and I think I've finally found it! I had the whiting platter with fries. It was hot, fresh, and flavorful. I will definitely be back!

Good fresh food, none of that three and four day old grease. Deserves double the star's.Ant

Platter was small for the price and the okra was extremely salty.

Telephone ordering was easy. Order was ready upon arrival. They give you an above average portion of food. My only negative remark the food was too salty. When you first taste it salt level was fine, but it increases the more you eat. Suggestion lower the salt level in the breading.

I really like this spot! Food is really good here. My only issue is I've experienced excessive wait times even with ordering ahead, I've still had to wait for my order an additional 15 minutes. Don't say 10 minutes if you know it'll be longer it's inconveniencing. Nonetheless, I'll continue to recommend this restaurant because they have good food, I also tried the strawberry crunch cake and it was AMAZING!!
Hands down the best wings and sea food in New Haven.

The wings are their staple and they're done pretty well. So many sauces and flavor options. This is one of my husband's favorite spots. He loves the fried okra. They make a tasty Rasta Pasta too! It's a nice spot for a quick lunch or dinner takeout.

I stopped in to try their sweet heat wings. While I waited, the waitress had us try the curly fries with shrimp and boneless chicken. It was absolutely INCREDIBLE. Food was delicious, seasoned to perfection, and done just RIGHT! I go back into the restaurant once a week at this point.
