Sylvia and her staff consistently make you feel as if you're part of the family. Their attention to detail is unmatched. Our favorites include the homemade tamales, guacamole, mole chicken and of course the decadent cheese enchiladas....who am I kidding? Everything on the menu is delicious. If this review doesn't convince you that they serve the best Mexican food in the state, the cars lined up around the corner will.

We've been eating here for 13 years--inside and out (heated seating). Food was always delicious, yet it has improved after last year's change in ownership. Silvia, new owner, daughter in-law of previous owners, is a gracious and lovely (both inside and out) owner who doesn't just supervise her staff, she works front of house too: greeting, serving, making cocktails,bussing tables, and more. She's a one-woman dynamo. Oh, and she comes up with some new dishes, one of which is tacos de birria--one of the best things we've eaten in restaurants across two continents. A real family endeavor, Silvia is seen with her lovely adult children and handsome husband and Brother-in-Law helping her out during some peak times. Although born in Ecuador, she he's an American success story. Do yourself a favor and visit Coyote Flaco for the best Mexican food in Central Connecticut @ 635 New Britain Avenue in Hartford. 860-953-1299.

We've been enjoying meals at Coyote Flaco for at least 20 years. We live in the neighborhood, and this restaurant is such an asset to our community. It is family run, and the atmosphere has always been so welcoming. From the warm chips and salsa brought to the table as soon as we're seated, the many delicious and varied dishes (along with the guac! the mole! yum!) to their margaritas, and dessert flan, we've never been disappointed. Whether it's a date night, or a meal with our kids (and now our grandkids) Coyote Flaco is really a neighborhood treasure.

Wow! This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of dining at.The atmosphere is clean, simple and aesthetically pleasing. More importantly the food is delicious and authentic. Not scooped out of a steam table like so many; but obviously prepared to order with all fresh ingredients. The margaritas were perfect and also obviously made from scratch, not some sugary pre-mix. While enjoying our meal, the owner, Sylvia, was omnipresent making sure everything was perfect. The staff is obviously close and works as a team. This restaurant was absolutely amazing from food, drinks, to the service. Such a home and family feel. We are from Nh and will most certainly be back!! Jalapeño margarita (sans agave) was top notch!!
