My husband and went to Dish for brunch. We loved it! Our waiter Matt was very attentive and was a big part in making our dining experience great! We started with the Calamari appetizer, it was so good breaded and cooked perfectly! My husband had the Maryland Crabcake Benedict, and I had the Shrimp and Grits! Both dishes did not disappoint! I would highly recommend Dish Bar and Grill to family and friends!

This was mine and my wife's first time dining at Dish. We received a brunch Groupon as a Christmas present from our daughter. They did not disappoint. Our server Matt was very attentive, and was definitely one of the highlights of our visit! Now onto the food! We started with the Calamari, it was breaded and cooked to perfection! My wife had the shrimp and grits and raved about them! I myself had the Maryland Crabcake Benedict, again no complaints! In summary we will be going back, and would highly recommend to friends and family alike!

I celebrated my nomination earlier this evening in this fine place. Well we enjoyed a sensational evening and the venue was undoubtedly the reason for that fruitful event. The waiters collaborated in a splendid style, the cooking was delicious and my friends were very glad. We shall absolutely visit again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Hmm.. we used to come here often when I worked in downtown. Now that we live in downtown it has become quite infrequent. We were celebrating so thought of coming here. We were seated fast. I'm not a big fan of their tiny 2 person tables because half the things keep falling and at times I saw the staff just forcing in trays without even bothering it's becoming uncomfortable for the guests. Anyways we just ordered the main course directly so we didn't have much on the table. Even that was crowded when our plates were on the table. We ordered: Salmon - it was good Duck - little chewy not a big fan I'm going to take away 2 stars for the hour long wait for the food to come. Our waiting staff was pretty good to come inform us that it will be delayed because there's a huge party who is getting their food now. Well my expression was "so......" what am I supposed to do !! It's our fault we didn't come in a huge group!!! Weird.

An excellent spot for dinner in downtown Hartford before a show at Hartford Stage, a game at Dunkin Field, or an event at the XL Center. Dish has a lot of options, from shareable apps to soups and salads to larger entrees like scallops, swordfish, and steak. It's definitely not inexpensive, however, so if you're looking for something quick, easy, and casual, Dish is not the place for you. They do have a nice happy hour in the bar area, though- a great option for those who aren't looking to spend an easy $100 on dinner and drinks. My friend and I especially enjoyed the shareable hummus platter, and the house wines (Noble) were delicious.

I've never really had a bad experience at Dish. The staff is always very friendly and I love the atmosphere. The only thing I find is that their dishes are saltier then they should be. We decided on Dish after seeing Disney on Ice. There was a snow storm that day and we were the only ones in the entire restaurant which was interesting. We started with drinks my husband had an old fashioned and I had a whiskey sour. Both decent. For our appetizer we got the tuna poke which was good but super salty. My husband had the salmon for his entree which he loved and I had the scallops which was served over an Asian inspired slaw. Both the scallops and slaw were so salty they were almost inedible. I was sad because scallops are one of my favorite things in life. We also ordered a side of roasted Brussel sprouts which were hands down the star of the evening.. completely amazing! My daughter had the buttered pasta which is very hard to go wrong with. I would come back but not sure I'd do dinner here again.. maybe just apps and drinks.

Good brunch spot in downtown Hartford within walking distance to the XL center. We came here before a bAsketball game with a larger group and were seated quickly. They have a good assortment of breakfast drinks including mimosas and bloody Mary's. Our server was attentive and had our entrees our pretty quickly. I had the burger and it was huge- very well cooked and so delicious. I ended up finishing it all, as well as the perfectly seasoned fries. My fiancée had the huevos rancheros and said they were tasty. OthErs said the chicken and waffles were amazing but I was way too full to try. Would recommend for anyone looking for a good weekend brunch in the downtown area!

There's a lot to love at Dish in terms of the atmosphere. But overall this place does need improvement. I'm basing this review on the food and service, not the three-year-old child at the table beside us that was annoying, kicking our bench, making noise, touching cutlery at an unused, set table, and generally not being controlled by his parents. Our starter, French onion soup, came out medium warm, not hot. We had to ask our server to rewarm it and the kitchen gave us a new bowl which was now hot. In terms of its taste it was quite good. Classic French onion soup. My surf and turf was quite good, though medium rare seems to be mostly rare these days. It was essentially a mostly raw piece of meat but I didn't mind it too much since it was very tasty, albeit salty. The person I was with ordered a tasty pasta dish which we both enjoyed. The apple tart we had for dessert was quite good. Overall, the food was just a little too salty for us both. That we both woke up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty and dry in the mouth confirmed this. And the bill wasn't that cheap either, but not outrageous at the same time. Three stars for now. Our server was nice.

It is a decent restaurant. The menu is quite varied and caters to a wide audience. The place is quiet though Fridays can be a bit noisy.

Outstanding upscale restaurant and bar with a relaxed vibe, no pretension, and a smart take on craft cocktails and retro dishes. It was our first visit on Saturday night, and we were initially a little put off by how quiet it was, and by the staff just milling around the entrance. But they seem to do most of their business during the week, and the weekends tend to be quiet. It certainly didn't mar the experience - we very much enjoyed the 'throwback' dishes like the the insanely good wedge salad and the terrific baked stuff shrimp. It was a pleasure to see classic cocktails like Sazerac and Aviation given a 'craft' makeover with topshelf liquors and coupe glasses. Service was flawless and attentive without hovering, and the acoustics were great for conversation since the rough hewn wood and raw concrete seemed to absorb and deflect noise. Recommended.

Went for a work dinner on a Wednesday and it was empty. Not a good sign. And my impression didn't improve through the night. Once we sat it took at least 10 minutes for them to come back and get our drink order. Even then, we had to first ask for a wine menu and when they gave us the beer menu they had to come back and tell us that half of the list wasnt available anymore! Service throughout the rest of the night was really slow as well. For food, my table got a variety of dishes. I got the Maine diver scallops with Vietnamese cabbage slaw. It came with 5 scallops and a huge mound of slaw. The scallops were meh. Good size but not great flavor and they weren't crispy on the edges. The slaw had an overwhelming fish sauce flavor and was extremely salty. Also extremely pricey for what it was. That was the consensus for my whole party, overpriced. They did like their dishes better but for the price, it wasn't worth it. For reference they got the Bolognese, short rib, salmon and filet mignon.

I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I got to say their customer service is always good and they keep the spot clean constantly. Rates are fair and they serve large portions.
