When I lived in the Hartford area, First and Last was a regular haunt. Now that I live in the South, I find myself jonesing for the First and Last grilled sausage and peppers, served with side of shells in marinara. It rarely gets better than this, even if you find the real Italian sausage; I've been living in Charleston, a foodie paradise, but I have yet to find the real, homemade salsiccia that you get at First and Last, or buy at D&D market, close by. So mangia Hartford, and pray that this place never changes!

I bring guests visiting from out of town to First and Last. I introduce them to " my favorite restaurant" when they visit. Always a great meal, service and ambiance.
