Came in just before Connecticut home game thinking that the crowd will eventually clear out and I'll have the bar to myself and that was absolutely true. But boy was it crowded until game time! I got in just in time for $3 PBRs and ordered six delicious garlic parmesan wings and a Franklin Avenue personal pizza which featured tomato sauce, sausage, pepperoni, ricotta, mozzarella, banana peppers. It was delicious. No wonder this place is number one on Yelp

This restaurant was a bit of a disappointment. My company made a reservation at this establishment three days in advance over the phone as we were looking for a spot to host 15 people before an event at The XL Center.

When we arrived for a reservation at 4PM, this restaurant clearly was not prepared for an extra 15 people and the people working had no idea about our reservation. There was no room for an added 15 people to come here, with the amount of people already there.

It seemed like there was only one to two employees working behind the bar/in the kitchen and the service was very slow. The staff did not come to our table to get any drink or food orders until 30 or 40 minutes after we sat down, and they clearly did not have the personnel working to accommodate our group.

Next time we go to Hartford for an event, we won’t be choosing The Brownstone as an option to go to for food and drinks prior to the event.

Brownstone is good pizza but had an awful experience there when my friend got called the N word by another patron he obviously got upset they then decided to kick him out and didn’t hear his side of the story at all. So I won’t be going back there you can find better bar pizza elsewhere. I mean they make most of there business by the young college crowd who they supply with underage drinking. Not sure if that’s by design or not. If you’re older try to avoid it on those college nights if you want to avoid all that drama. Drinks are okay nothing really different they do standard American beers and cocktails the bartenders are of college age or older women so it seems that’s the kind of crowd they are attracting.

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly even during the day the bar usually has older men and women drinking and getting rowdy.

Waited an unimaginable amount of time for one pizza. Sat at a table for at least an hour and a half before leaving the restaurant after a bad attitude from the waitress when I asked for a time estimate. Pizza may be okay but the incompetent staff made my stomach so hungry that it didn’t even matter if what I ate tasted good.

Our 1st time here. We tried pickle pizza for the 1st time. It was ok, a little bland. The wings were fabulous. The service was fantastic. The vibe was kinda weird and we couldn't figure it why. We'll have to try it again.

It was a Thursday afternoon and I was hungry, I asked around for good stop to buy a paint and a slice and I told about a place called the brownstone pizza.
As soon as I walk into door i could hear my favorite song playing and as i was mouthing the words i notice the bar tender doing the same as he sliced limes and i just felt like this was going to be a cool place to hangout before going home to the work from home after being in the office grind.was greeted by curt who turned out not only to be a bar tender but general manger. After a beer or two i asked what was good, he looked me looked me in the eye the way only someone who knows can and said get the meatball sandwich. I felt I had no choice but to take his sage advice. And ... now I'm here for first time leaving a goggle review l. After my first bite I wasn't a just a happy customer but a convert to the temple of brownstone so in his cheesey name I implore you go there and whiteness. In the name of the meatball and fries...amen amen 🙏

Brownstone is my go-to spot!
Large pizza for $10 on Tuesdays. Their pizza/food is consistently super fresh & well made and the staff is So kind & cool!

I usually get takeout but always consider staying if I wasn't rushing. Drink options look great.

Highly recommend!!
