I feel they have really good food, but I have no idea why they are still open. They are literally never serving. Last time I called them an hour after they opened & they told me they wouldn’t be serving till 10pm and they close at 11pm so idk it just never makes sense with them.

Unfortunately I have to leave a 1 star review. I planned a day-trip to CT (from Rhode Island) with the goal of grabbing food at Guilty Kitchen. I really wanted to support a black-owned establishment. We arrived a little after five, according to Google, the restaurant was open, pulled up, and it was closed. I called to try and speak someone, but was unable to get someone on the line. Really disappointed by this experience.

Called to see if they were open on Christmas Eve. The hostess asked how many were in my party and made it seem as if seating was available. When I arrived, all the doors were locked, with a sign saying “To go orders only”. I then called the restaurant again and the hostess had a very nasty attitude with me about there being a sign on the door explaining that they were not seating anyone (would have been nice to know before driving across Hartford for a sit down meal). When I asked point blank what was available for order from the restaurant, now that I was outside, I was told only salmon and Mac & Cheese. In all my years in customer service (and 5 in food service) I have never felt so duped! Such a disappointment, on Christmas Eve as well!

A hour and 50 mins for 2 meals to go is honestly ridiculous. Food was mediocre at that. No gravy on the rice. When I told the bartender/waitress she gone say “it doesn’t come with gravy” I look at her dumbfounded like girl read the menu it definitely does…and go get a side of gravy!!! I been here for over a hour and 30 mins??? It’s sad honestly because you want to support black owned businesses but the service and quality is HORRIBLE. People work hard everyday to go out and try to enjoy their money and y’all wasting people time and money. No dj, barely anybody in there on a Friday night! Smh just pack it up.

The woman who answers the phones for reservations and/or orders is rude and miserable! She’s unpleasant and not a good representation of your business. The food is ok, the collard greens are always crunchy, they need to be cooked for longer. The lamb is inconsistent, some times it’s on point, other times it’s dry. The yams have too much cloves. The cornbread ain’t doing what it’s supposed to do. The food is way too mediocre for miserable, bad attitude having employees.**Edit** since miss I hate my job decided to respondThe employee who I’m referencing has replied to this review and as you can see she is being unprofessional. As you can see in my initial review, I did not mention anything about an opening time. Imagine the employee with no decorum managing your reviews…bad idea. This is a public forum and still she is choosing to be sarcastic and condescending. This is not my first encounter with this type of behavior from her, this is just the last straw. In this particular instance I called and hit “0” because I was wondering if they were open for deliveries. I had just picked up my mother from the emergency room and she was starving and requesting salmon. This restaurant was closest to my home. When I asked if they were open for deliveries on door dash the response was “you should’ve listened to the prompt messages”. All you/she had to say was, “unfortunately we won’t be open for deliveries until 10pm tonight.” Do you see the difference?I’ll give you another example of how disgusting your/her behavior is while dealing with customers. I called after placing my order because the app wouldn’t allow me to choose the temperature for the lamb. Instead of simply asking my name and making the note on your end. You were rude and indignant. Your reply was along the lines of blaming me for app issues and you had an attitude, as always.Example 3 of when you showed you weren’t raised right. I called and asked if you were accepting deliveries because my order had been placed and paid for, for an hour before it was canceled by the restaurant without any explanation. I called and you, the same deep, manly voiced woman I referenced before…said and I quote “we don’t have no to go containers.” And hung up. No apology for the inconvenience or anything.From my explanations you can clearly see that I have tried to make it work with your 2 star restaurant and 0 star customer service. However you can’t teach a grown woman who sounds 72 new tricks. Be blessed.

WORST EXPERIENCE!!! Ordered from them at 5 o’clock order was taking very long they kept telling my doordasher it will be ready in 20 mins by 630 I called them asking them about my food they told me they had started on it and it will be ready soon. 30 mins later they cancelled my order. Lady who I talked to was nice but other than that horrible service because they could have cancelled it hrs before

The g@y bendtender and his manager tried to argue with me About everything that I did not agree with tonight, including the fact that my croutons were burnt. I had to take my salad home and compare their croutons to a regular crouton Just to make sure I wasn’t the crazy one. They remade the salad more than once and I just didn’t want to keep the issue going so I just told him I liked it. No, the salad isn’t the only issue tonight. But seeing how I drove over an hour here for the third time, for bad service and no DJ TWICE. I’m never coming back here again. I posted my review here and on my YouTube channel. I wish you guys the best of luck.

I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. If I wanted poor quality food, horrible service and poor communication then I would go to Lillys in Windsor. The food was absolutely unacceptable. The chicken had absolutely no seasoning, the whiting was dry and also burnt the mac & cheese is also dry with little to no cheese on it. On top of that after ordering multiple items were missing and replaced with food that I could not eat! So inclusion if I could rate guilty kitchen zero stars across-the-board then I would!!!! I will gladly inform others not to eat here. The restaurant is called “guilty” for a reason because the food is absolutely horrible!
