Max Downtown continues to be the one reason to visit Hartford . This is a jewel in a tarnished crown. If Max Downtown was in any thriving city you wouldn't be able to get a reservation for months. Fortunately it's very accessible and people in the suburbs should make the trip . Food is consistently top shelf and the service is outstanding. We went to Max's for our anniversary date and had a great time! The filet Mignon with crab meat was exceptional! My wife had the tuna which she enjoyed. Our waiter was very good as was the entire evening. We will be back!
