Updated review: I’ve lived in Frog Hollow for years now, and have been a regular at Story and Soil for years. Over the past six months, some things have dramatically changed:1. Three out of five times — during peak morning hours — there’s no regular coffee available. The manager says we need to wait 15 minutes for the coffee to brew.2. The manager often complains about his day and customers to other customers, including to us. This has become a regular thing, and it’s made the atmosphere awkward and uncomfortable.3. Yesterday, he mumbled questions as I ordered and I couldn’t hear, and I asked him to repeat the questions, and he was exceptionally curt and rude. The entire atmosphere inside the coffee shop felt tense. I walked away wondering what I did wrong to be treated poorly.4. Among our friends in Frog Hollow, people have stopped going to Story and Soil because of the manager’s rudeness.I love Story and Soil and wish for its success but something needs to change.

Good coffee. The tea list is well curated, and the signature seasonal drinks are creative as they are delicious.

Best drip coffee around here imo… I’ve also tried their iced latte a while back and that was really good. Recently had a drip coffee from a certain coffee shop in Manchester ? that I have been to many times, and was struck by how much less I enjoyed it compared to story’s drip. Bakery stuff is not bad either. In terms of their specialty drinks, the ones I’ve tasted were too sweet imo . But if you just want drip coffee, this is the place

The coffee was amazing but the guy behind the bar wouldn’t give me my coffee unless I gave a 5 star

Service is nice and friendly, food was okay. When we came here, they probably had delivery day or something, so there was a lot of boxes and no place to seat inside.

Half the experience of getting coffee is the good service, the other half is the fresh and unique coffee. Didn’t not receive either here.

Quality Local cafe shops are hard to find in the Hartford area and this is one of the better ones. I still go here to order my morning lattes but have recieved them a little burnt at on occasion. They can make a good latte though.I would also never recommend getting any of the baked goods they offer. Nothing has ever tasted fresh. They are always so dry. Scons may have a bad rap for being dry but even the muffins are very dry.

Pretty cool place. Got an Iced Vanilla coffee with room for cream. It was good. The ambiance was cool. People were chill. No room to sit down. Parking was was easy, but it was about 10 am.
